Character History

Retirement

Chiaki visits Misaka in her workshop in warehouse #0069 located near Mitakihara docks during her mission to retire Kirika Kure to stock up on equipment and gain her support. The place is usually loud with Misaka working on arms, explosives and other unusual devices.

Chiaki finds her arms dealer piloting the giant armor she's been working on, expecting to be shot at for testing armor integrity. Misaka quickly gathers equipment for Chiaki and offers to support her as a sniper. On Chiakis request Misaka calls Sayaka as additional support to guard her sniping position.

After picking up Sayaka on the way to Mitakihara Tower One, Misaka feebly tries to stop a violent argument between Chiaki and Sayaka and is relieved when they settle things without bloodshed.

Misaka picks the highest skyscraper two blocks away as her vantage point, hands Chiaki and Sayaka headsets for communication and heads to the top floor with her guard. In the building Sayaka introduces Misaka as her younger sister as a cover story. Soon after they are set up but are attacked themselves while Chiaki engages Kirika.

While Sayaka wards off the assailants, Misaka waits for Chiaki to order her to shoot, upon which the young sniper reduces Kirikas upper body to a sticky mess with a masterful shot.

Later, Misaka and Sayaka are bandages up on the helipad Chiaki was fighting on, aparantly injured by their attackers. Misaka is talking animatedly abot things exploding though, suggesting that she is fine. Talking to Chiaki, she is high spirited about the successful assignment and offers to construct an augmentic arm for her, seeing how Kirika cut off Chiakis right arm, and promises to continue working on the armor once she returns to her workshop.

Recuperation & Maid to Kill

A few days later Chiaki decides to have a vodka victory celebration at Misakas workshop, finding her working on the armor in the company of Kyoko for whom she put gold on her spear. Misaka is relieved to see Chiakis eyes violet instead of black, but wonders why she is here instead of with her idol girlfriend, making the Vindicare laugh hard before telling them that Iori is definitely not her girlfriend.

Misaka says she usually doesn't drink vodka as it dulls the voices in her head and she can't focus on them when she's working. Chiaki prepares Misakas vodka with ice and blackcurrant juice while the engineer pulls out clean cushions and the party gets underway. Soon everyone is drunk and Misaka is resting her head on Chiakis thighs, singing off-key. Chiaki thanks her for her help and indulges Misaka in patting her head, telling her she is a good girl before she falls asleep.

While Chiaki and Kyoko are talking, Misaka wakes up, tracing her fingers over Chiakis damaged shield, saying that the machine spirit is broken, crying because it is not whole and can not work as it should, that she cannot fix it and that only Akemi Homura can. She says that the machine spirit is crying for it's missing pieces, that Homura has two and needs to find the others, and tells her end to end the world before "she" does. After that she falls asleep again.

Chiaki checks if her eyes are black since her words remind her of Faust, but they are still brown as usual. Chiaki takes the still sleeping Misaka with her to her apartment to haver her sleep the alcohol off in a futon while the others gather for a meeting concerning the golden weapons.

Some time later Misaka supplies Chiaki with weapons and flashbangs for her next mission and helps her hide them under her maid uniform. She tries catching Kyubey's tail when he appears to report some of his findings on the godlen weapons, much to her frustration unsuccessful.

After he leaves, Misaka hands Chiaki a cross pendant as a good luck charm, telling her it's function is a secret and to pray hard and press the hidden button to have a big friend come and rescue her when needed. The same evening it turns out to be a teleport beacon for the now combat ready power armor that she started calling Tiny Pete.

Recruitment & Flight

A day after the mission, Chiaki visits Misaka in her workshop where she is taking care of repairing Tiny Pete. Misaka is excited to see her again after watching Tiny Petes video footage, but is irritated by Midoris reaction to Tiny Pete and decides to ignore the green haired girl. She notices that Chiaki had an argument with Iori from her look, but is assured it was just a misunderstanding.

Chiaki tells Misaka that she wants to take her on a trip to Siberia, sending the young engineer into a world of bliss to see her home again, as well as her brother who works in the R&D base there. When Midori playfully flirts with Tiny Pete, Misaka tells her off and states that she already dislikes Green after being formally introduced.

Chiaki orders Midori to follow Misakas orders during the trip, unless she orders her to make a naked snowangel like she did to Kyoko once, who was drunk and actually did it. If they behave, Chiaki promises treats, earning Misakas approval. She informs Chiaki of Tiny Petes repairs and that his AI has been improved to accept only her commands with Misaka still being administrator. Afterwards, she starts packing for the trip.

At the airport Misaka indulges her curiosity about normal things and normal people by exploring the place with Midori, dragging her all over. She wants to talk to the engineers and explain theories about outdated engines. Midori convinces a guard to let them into a hangar, where Misaka makes a big fuss and only calms down after Chiaki talks to her over Midoris phone and promises chocolate.

On the plane Misaka enjoys the view outside the window and tells Chiaki that she will teleport Tiny Pete over once they arrive at the R&D base to complete his repairs over there. She is also happy that Chiaki thinks of him. Misaka tells her that her plushie, Big Pete, is a handmade gift from Sayaka for Tiny Pete saving Chiaki and Kyoko.

She also tells Chiaki about her brother, who is smart, but not smarter than Misaka herself. She wants to test Tiny Pete's AI with multipe targets while bear hunting, which has really good conditions near the R&D base. After eating her packed dinner, she falls asleep for the rest of the flight.

Once in Siberia, Misaka calls the R&D base to have somebody pick them up as the place is in a hidden location, unknown to the locals. Soon after she enters the helicopter sent to get them with Midori, arguing with the pilot who teases her about Chiaki being kidnapped by bears before falling asleep again.

Betrayer & Hunt

Misaka sleeps throughout the entire flight and is put to bed inside the base by Chiaki. Later she transports Tiny Pete over to resume repairs and quite heatedly argues with Kharn about what seems to be just how many additional spikes should be added to the Terminators frame. When Souji tries to stop the argument, she kicks her brother, shouting at him instead until he leaves.

Right after she tackle hugs Chiaki, calming down and asking if Tiny Pete can come along on the hunting trip, happy when Chiaki grants her permission. She finishes the last repairs and gets into the groups vehicle headed for the hunting ground.

When the vehicle stops ahead of schedule, Misaka heads to Chiaki who has been walking behind and decidedly ignores Kharns presence. When the former Warmaster suggests sending her and Midori back to the base, Misaka starts shouting at her, obviously displeased at being treated like a child.

Chiaki then decides that Misaka should return and transport Tiny Pete back to her afterwards, telling her she will feel better if her friend is safe. Misaka agrees, despite preferring to cheer her friends on, and returns to the base with Tiny Pete and a group of soldiers.

Training

The morning after Chiakis treatment, Misaka is in the R&D base living area with Midori and Souji. When Chiaki enters the room, the young girl runs up and happily hugs her.

Hearing about Chiakis amnesia, Misaka shouts at Kharn for breaking her beloved Murderface before running away, also shouting at Souji and kicking him. She instructs Tiny Pete not to let anyone into her room, especially Chiaki, and cries herself to sleep.

Later that day Souji tries to calm her down again. As Chiaki enters the living area, the young girl runs up and buries her face into Chiakis stomach. The Warmaster in training pats her head and explains that while she is no longer the same Murderface she loves, she will try to be as good as a big sister. Hearing this, Misaka finally cheers up again and heads towards the kitchen to tell her brother about Big Sister Chiaki.

Midori & Miracle Midori

Some time after Chiaki, Kharn and Midori left to interrogate Mirai, the base alarm flares up, announcing the presence of a witch. Misaka approaches Midori, concerned about the missing Chiaki. She learns that her new big sister was sucked into a witch barrier in the interrogation room and that somebody needs to get in to kill the witch before they can rescue the missing Warmaster in training.

Misaka decides to do it with the help of Tiny Pete, but Midori manages to dissuade her by stating that Chiaki would not want her to put herself in danger or get hurt trying to save her. Since the witch and her familiars would target a non magical girl first, not even Tiny Pete would be able to protect her inside the barrier.

Midori decides to go in alone and asks if Tiny Pete can be brought to her when she needs help. Misaka hands over her digital watch, explaining that it has a teleporter beacon inside that will summon Tiny Pete on the press of a button. She explains that the Terminator can in theory teleport himself and one person back out, but she could not test it in a witch barrier yet and Souji advises against trying. Misaka hugs Midori, telling her to save Chiaki, and heads off to outfit Tiny Pete for maximum fire power.

Once she is done, Misaka contacts Midori inside the barrier. She explains that Tiny Pete is ready to deploy, but Chiakis teleport beacon is sending four signals. She also mentions that a powerful witch was detected near the green haired magical girl, but before she can say any more, the connection is cut.

After hours of waiting, Midori finally asks Souji to send Tiny Pete in and requests him to pilot the Terminator so he can talk Kharn down. He agrees, but Misaka knocks her brother out from behind, ties him up and pilots the Terminator herself. Nobody notices during the chaotic encounter inside the barrier, but after returning to the real world, Misaka falls asleep inside the cockpit while the machine stands guard over Kharn.

When Chiaki tells Tiny Pete to reveal his pilot, expecting Souji, they find the young engineer instead. Chiaki pulls her out of the cockpit and carries her back to her room, Kharn's warmaster cap held in her arms all the while.
