<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">Warmaster Matsuda calls for a support team to secure the stadium her principal, the idol Ruri Kirishima, will give a concert in. In addition to the Vindicare squad Hiryu, Enishi is chosen to take care of anti Callidus measures since the involvement of another Officio in an incident is suspected.
 +
 +
The group of six arrives at the idol's hotel and is held up by the regular security personnel, whose leader confirms their identity with the Warmaster and directs them to the penthouse. Enishi knocks on the door and announces their presence in her usual polite song-like manner, disregarding her companion's concern of laying on too thick.
 +
 +
Instead of the Warmaster, Sayaka opens the door, blatantly displeased to see the Callidus and complains about getting disturbed while taking a shower. With an obviously fake apology, Enishi asks about the Warmaster's whereabouts and Sayaka points her to the room opposite of her own, mentioning that Chiaki is sleeping with the principal. Disappointed to hear that the new Warmaster seems to be just like her predecessor, the Callidus moves on while Sayaka slams her door shut.
 +
 +
She knocks and apologizes for interrupting the Warmaster's private time with the client and requests a moment to report, suggesting that they wait until morning otherwise. One of the Vindicare wonders if the Warmaster is still awake, and Enishi tells her that she might since her predecessor and partner Kharn never slept during missions, but mentions how she hated visitors.
 +
 +
Warmaster Matsuda steps out of the room, clad in silken sleepwear and her sign of office hat, making the Vindicare snap to attention. Enishi bows gracefully and introduces squad Hiryu as the long range and surveillance support and herself as the Callidus counter measures and crowd control support the Warmaster requested.
 +
 +
Being told to cut back on the formality and be quiet, Enishi elegantly snaps a paper fan into existence while listening to Chiaki explain that the client just went to sleep and she doesn't want to have to deal with her waking up. The Callidus assures that the group will perform their duties without being noticed and confirms that they have been briefed about the possible involvement of the Tenth Officio.
 +
 +
She continues to report that the list of suspects regarding the issue with Mami Tomoe is being worked on and passes a gift wrapped bottle of Kong whiskey to the Warmaster, a gift from the blonde Vindicare herself with a reminder to drink in strict moderation. Enishi asks if there is anything the Warmaster wants them to do before they start their sweep and guard duty, offering a massage to ease her visible tension.
 +
 +
Chiaki refuses the massage, mentioning that being tense is normal for her, but considers coffee a good idea for the night watch. Enishi immediately sends Vindicare Kagura to the hotel pantry to fetch her a strong iced coffee. While the tanned girl runs off, the Callidus tells her modest Warmaster that she should leave menial tasks like calling room service to them and instead focus her attention on guarding the principal.
 +
 +
Chiaki continues the briefing by explaining that they will only answer to her, not the principal or anyone else. She also mentions that the principal suspects a mole within the mundane security detail and orders her subordinates to cooperate, but to share as little information about their patrols, positions and capabilities as possible. Enishi acknowledges the orders and Vindicare Ayako confirms that she already jacked into the security radio frequency.
 +
 +
When Kagura returns with the coffee, Chiaki wonders how Enishi knew that she prefers it iced, who replies that she went with a hunch before asking if there are any further orders. The Warmaster shakes her head and Enishi sends squad Hiryu out with a serious but encouraging speech.
 +
 +
She makes to leave to start  search herself, but is stopped by Chiaki asking her to share tips about resisting magical control with the security. Enishi agrees to try and, reminding the Warmaster to call her if she changes her mind about the massage, makes to leave.
 +
 +
Only a few steps away, she hears somebody talking to the Warmaster and, wondering who it is, steps up behind her. Spotting Noriko, she is somewhat surprised and glares at the cardboard box that the girl quickly unfolds and hides under. Chiaki glares at her and inquires about their relation and if this will affect the operation.
 +
 +
Enishi tells her that this is an unexpected family reunion that will not affect her behavior or capability during the mission. She nudges the box, asking if Ryota is doing well, to which it nods. She tells the covered girl that their father sends his regards, that their mother is still disappointed in her and that their elder sister wishes her well in her idol career despite sharing Enishi's wish that she grows out of it.
 +
 +
Enishi tells Chiaki that the family had high hopes for the girl but coldly states that it sometimes is a silly thing. Shooting the box another glare, she turns around and hurriedly leaves for the elevator, a bluish glow in her hand.
 +
 +
Soon Vindicare Ayumu contacts her about a discovery in an empty room on the penthouse floor and Enishi investigates, sneaking past Chiaki and Noriko with her Callidus magic. As soon as her sister leaves, she admits to Chiaki that they are being hard on their youngest sister because it is expected of them. The Warmaster swallows a mouthful of coffee and demands to know why she sneaked up on her.
 +
 +
Enishi simply replies that sneaking comes with being Callidus Rank Leader and tells her about Vindicare Ayumu's discovery. She mentions a discarded cleaning uniform in an empty room and hands her a calling card with a drawing and Chirpee account address, explaining that no fingerprints or other traces were found. She shows the Warmaster her phone, linked to the Chirpee account from the card to read the entries, which turn out to be the security leak.
 +
 +
She also discovers that this amateur journalist by the pen name NECO has published some profiles on magical girls and considers the possibility that she has more in stock. Worried about the possible impact on her father's health, she hopes that NECO has nothing on Noriko. When she notices that the Warmaster started a phone call, Enishi excuses herself and walks a few steps away to keep her superior's privacy.
 +
 +
During her call, NECO publishes another profile, namely that of the Warmaster, which Enishi shows her immediately. As she reads the newly published profile of herself, she loses her strength and composure, suppressing her sobs until Chiaki finishes her call. Chiaki catches Enishi's dropped phone and reads the abasing file. The sobbing Callidus protests that she was never fat and is only saving herself for marriage, looking to the Warmaster for reassurance.
 +
 +
Chiaki agrees that saving her virginity is a classy thing to do and assures that she does not look fat at all. Smiling, Enishi moves to embrace her Warmaster, but is stopped when she takes a reflexive step back and moves a hand toward her weapon. Blinking confused for a moment, the Callidus collects herself and apologizes for her tantrum and for trying to invade her personal space, nearly wiping her nose with her sleeve before stopping herself to use a handkerchief instead.
 +
 +
After a moment, Chiaki asks if she will be all right, which the Callidus confirms, assuring that a Karasawa never breaks. Giving the screen an angry look, she swears to do something to the one responsible, but Chiaki tells her not to take it to seriously and slaps her butt. Blushing, Enishi states that she does not mind her touch but points out the possibility of being seen by NECO or her sister. Chiaki tells her that she meant to pat her back and blames the fact that everyone is bigger than her for the misunderstanding.
 +
 +
With mild disappointment, Enishi makes to leave for her duties and recommends Chiaki to get some sleep after all. The Warmaster protests that she does not need sleep, but Enishi replies that she needs to be well rested for her duties and that while she might not care about her appearance, the rest of the Officio does.
 +
 +
The Warmaster is their ideal, carries their hopes and dreams, and affects the way all other Officios see them. Complimenting her hairstyle as a good start, she mentions that even Kharn secretly took good care of her hair and skin condition. Expressing the hope that Chiaki will take her advice into consideration, Enishi then takes her leave.
 +
 +
During the nightly patrols, Enishi acts as professional as expected of a rank leader, keeping herself invisible behind the Warmaster most of the time. After lunch time, Chiaki calls for a final security meeting and gathers everyone in Ruri's suite. Enishi will shadow the Warmaster and the principal for the entire duration of the concert while deploying anti Callidus  measures.
 +
 +
Kyosuke asks about Chiaki's plan for emergency extractions, and Enishi mentions that they usually have a Callidus assume the appearance of the principal to lure hostiles away, offering herself for the role when needed. Chiaki adds that she should also disguise her and Sayaka since they are easily recognizable and would give the real Ruri away. Enishi compliments the plan and Kyosuke assures that his men would be able to pin hostiles down long enough for the extraction to complete.
 +
 +
Chiaki adds that if anyone notices a golden weapon, they are to inform her immediately and refrain from engaging or picking it up. Will inform Squad Hiryu and leaves the suite once the meeting concludes.
 +
 +
As she finishes the briefing, Chiaki approaches and Enishi thanks her for the suggestion, explaining that Kharn never called for Callidus support this way. They were only decoys, sometimes even set on fire for more distraction. Chiaki then asks her some questions which Enishi answers while trying not to be too long winded.
 +
 +
She explains about the range and scope of Callidus illusions and how for harder tasks, one needs to be in line of sight and preferably close to the targets, but can also imbue items with precast illusions to do it remotely. This only works with simple spells however and is commonly used to deal with non magical people since magical girls can easily see through these tricks. It also takes a lot f magic to prepare spells that last for more than a few minutes.
 +
 +
Regarding her own abilities during the mission, Enishi explains that she will use her training in concealment to remain invisible unless specifically called for, and will cast a layer of illusion magic over Chiaki, Sayaka and Ruri that works outwards. They will not see the illusion themselves, but notice a crimson glow around them when it is active.
 +
 +
Before leaving, Chiaki tells her to join Ruri and Sayaka in choosing costumes. Since she will be invisible anyway, she might as well dress up. Enishi thanks her Warmaster and energetically joins the idol.</spoiler>

===Concert===
 +
On the way to the concert hall, the group discovers a corpse made to look like Mami. Chiaki wants to investigate herself, but Enishi and Sayaka convince her to stay away from an obvious trap and delegate the investigation to others instead. Enishi also informs Mami about this incident and arranges her protection.
 +
 +
At the concert hall, Chiaki requests Enishi to scan the area for magic similar to her own. The Callidus checks Chiaki's soul gem, notices a strong similarity to Grief Seeds and explains that she will only find these when scanning the area.
 +
 +
When Lucius starts her attack, Enishi is put in charge of coordinating the security forces to disable potential suicide bombers while Chiaki engages the hostile magical girls leader.
 +
On the day after the concert, Ruri leaves the country. At the airport Enishi hands the idol a present from her sister Vintage.

<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">The group moves to the stadium in a convoy of four cars and two heavily armored APCs. The vehicles are decorated with Ruri decals, a demand from her producer, and the idol has Noriko take photos of her in front of them even though she admits the paintjob to be excessive. Ruri, Sayaka, Chiaki, Noriko and Enishi get into one car for the ride.
 +
 +
Suddenly the car stops in it's tracks, throwing the passengers around. The driver explains under Sayaka's angry questioning that the convoy spotted a headless body in the middle of the road, appearing out of nowhere right in front of them.
 +
 +
Chiaki decides to go out and investigate, but Sayaka and Enishi try to stop her, considering it an obvious trap. Chiaki tries to go out anyway, but Sayaka insists that something seems wrong and convinces her to stay inside and move on.
 +
 +
Picking up on Chiaki's plan, Enishi orders some of the security to secure the body and informs Mami of the current event to have somebody take care of the investigation. As the car passes the corpse, they get a glimpse of the costume, which resembles that of Mami, but Enishi assures that she just spoke to the girl in question.
 +
 +
After a while they arrive at the stadium and Ruri explains that it will be very loud and frantic and that they usually just head straight for the entrance. Sayaka points out that many girls in the crowd wear magical girl costumes, most of them being cosplayers, but that it would be easy for hostiles to hide among them.
 +
 +
Enishi suggests to keep Ruri in between them and move quickly, claiming that assassins would not risk acting out in the open and in front of the media. Ruri agrees to the plan cheerfully while Noriko explains that she will meet them backstage since assistants are not supposed to walk the red carpet.
 +
 +
Outside, a few youngsters crawl under the railings to have Ruri sign their albums, which Chiaki allows under close supervision. They come to her next to get a Murder Mayumi autograph, which the startled Chiaki complies with after Ruri reminds her to play her role. With Sayaka joking around, they head inside.
 +
 +
On her guard position, she scans the stadium for threats and detects only small traces of magic in the area, which she reports as untransformed magical girls without malicious intentions in the audience.
 +
 +
Later, Chiaki asks to talk to her in person to discuss an idea. Enishi approaches and finds the Warmaster mumbling about how to react when running into her ex girlfriend whom she forgot about. The Callidus, still hidden,  recommends chocolate and wine. She materializes next to a furry mascot character whom Chiaki assumed to be her and explains that no true Callidus would be caught dead in this kind of disguise while the balloon carrying thing walks off.
 +
 +
Chiaki then explains about her idea, that she is different from other magical girls and that Enishi should try and look for any other similar traces of magic in the area. The Rank Leader confirms that Callidus can track specific wavelengths and asks for Chiaki's soul gem for an imprint.
 +
 +
She reverently receives the Warmaster's unique gem, compliments the exquisite nature and focuses her mind on it. As Enishi returns the gem, she explains that Chiaki's soul gem has a wavelength like a grief seed rather than a soul gem. While these reading usually signifies a full witch transformation, the fact that Chiaki has not turned the area into hell or gone completely insane warrants a revision.
 +
 +
Enishi wonders if this condition is related to Chiaki's trip to Siberia, but quickly apologizes, realizing that this information is most likely classified. The Warmaster confirms this but also tells her that she is not concerned about the state of her soul gem since she is still sane. While not particularly happy about what she saw, the Callidus agrees and assures that her trust in the Warmaster remains fully intact.
 +
 +
Regarding Chiaki's plan, it seems likely that Enishi will only find spare grief seeds when scanning the area for Chiaki's wavelength, but the Rank Leader will try nonetheless. She also promises to keep the state of Chiaki's soul gem a secret before departing again.
 +
 +
During the concert, Enishi informs Chiaki that Ayumu from Squad Hiryu has gone silent. An unfamiliar voice on the radio tells them that the girl's soul gem is fine, but threatens to harm it while insulting their Officio.
 +
 +
Enishi listens to the conversation between her Warmaster and the intruder Lucius, who demands to face Chiaki in single combat on the baseball field for all the world to see if she wants Ayumu's soul gem back. Lucius also threatens to have her subordinates self destruct their soul gems to kill the audience with their witch explosions if Chiaki refuses or tries to evacuate the stadium.
 +
 +
After the fanatic signs off, Enishi remotely disables Ayumu's headset as a precaution and apologizes for the lapse in security that allowed Lucius group to get in, but Chiaki puts the mission first.
 +
 +
Chiaki orders Enishi and Squad Hiryu to stand down until she engages Lucius and from then on to coordinate with the security detail to keep watch for any suspicious magical girl activity and to take anyone about to transform or to self-destruct out with as little involvement of the audience as possible, but any measure of violence necessary.
 +
 +
Enishi compliments Chiaki's plan and explains that it is the exact opposite of what Kharn would have done until Malal straightening it out to match this exact scheme. She, along with Squad Hiryu, promises not to let the Warmaster down.
 +
 +
Chiaki relays information from Kyubey. Soul gem detonation takes ten seconds to overcharge the gem and that Enishi should spread her awareness through the stadium to detect the energy spikes so the nearest guard can disable the girl in question, dispersing the charge.
 +
 +
While Chiaki meets Lucius, Enishi reminds her to keep eye contact instead of ignoring the long winded speech to look around. The Callidus explains that she detected four distinct magical spikes but expects more.
 +
 +
During the fight between the Warmaster and Lucius, Enishi, Squad Hiryu and the security forces apprehend all suicide bombers. After Chiaki defeats Lucius, Enishi moves on to protect Ruri while the Warmaster has her injuries treated by Sayaka.
 +
 +
After the concert and the fight between Chiaki and a group of hostile magical girls, 2020 Productions decides to relocate Ruri ahead of time. So the morning after the concert, the group heads to the airport for an early flight. Enishi stealthily keeps watch over the idol while preparations are made.
 +
 +
The call for Ruri's flight comes up and the group moves out onto the tarmac, secured by Kyosuke's men. Before Ruri boards the plane, Enishi runs up to her to deliver a present from her sister Vintage. She assures that it is genuine and safe before handing the jewelry box over. It contains a bug shaped hair ornament, but Ruri seems to like it, even though it is weird.
 +
 +
Once the plane lifts off safely, Sayaka declared the mission to finally be over and Chiaki dismisses the group. Enishi thanks her for the opportunity to fight alongside the Warmaster and apologizes for not doing a better job. Chiaki states that they managed to apprehend all of Lucius' troops thanks to Enishi, but the Callidus still intends to meditate on her mistakes.</spoiler>

NECO Profile[edit]

*CURRENT*
NAME: Karasawa Enishi
"I am NOT going to be a Christmas Cake! I will get married!" -- While eating a tub of chocolate Haagen-Dazs
OFFICIO: Ninth, in Mitakihara City
RANK: Callidus Rank Leader
BIO: The second of the five Karasawa siblings and long-time magical girl, Karasawa Enishi’s been smug and huffy for nearly her entire life. She has a reputation for sucking up and a penchant for intrigue, both valuable assets in a Callidus but, unfortunately, kind of lousy qualities in a regular person. Someone who could probably only survive as a magical girl, or a miserable faux-yamato nadeshiko trophy wife in a loveless marriage. [assistant note: will never get married ever]
ABILITY: Callidus fare, ancient(?) Karasawa techniques of voyeurism and concealment. She can also eat an entire tub of ice cream before it melts.
WEAPONRY: Femme Fatale-ish charm and an absolutely toxic attitude.

TRIVIA

-Karasawa Enishi is a *virgin*. She claims it’s because she’ll only accept a lover who can do the impossible for her, but it’s actually because she was really overweight up through most of high school.

-She views herself as the perfect housewife candidate, but she’s horrible at dating. Her tea is really good, though, and she pulls off the kimono look well.

-While she’s the current Grandmaster of the Karasawa Techniques of Voyeurism and Self-Concealment, that and her slimy charm are all she has – she cannot be relied on to push a car, even when it’s really important.
