Questions from Threads[edit]

Thread 69[edit]

  • And how many people in the Officio know the thing with the tongue? [1]
    • And a lot of people in the Officio. You can count most of the Eversors as fans of Midori's manga. Not a lot of the Vindicares, though, because they're an uppity bunch. [2]
  • Oh, I actually do have a question. How closely-affiliated are the different Officios internationally? Obviously they keep tabs on one another and we know a lot of the other Incubators apparently don't like Coobie much, but how much do they tend to know about each another? [3]
    • Some of them have alliances with each other, some are rivals, others are sworn enemies. You have to really see each Officio as sort of a large business, and the Incubators their CEOs. Their employees may not like each other very much, but it rarely comes to blows when the CEOs are concerned.
    • Except for Jyuubey, which is I hope I've portrayed as something of an underground movement thing. He's actually more of an outcast. But they do have that 'all Incubators are my brothers' kinda deal. [4]

Thread 75[edit]

  • Errr... Midori mentioned that she had got up to twenty-six volumes on her manga. But when we first brought up the subject on the plane.
  • >Midori nods after a moment. "Y-yeah, sempai. I'm up to the sixth volume already."
  • Is that a continuity error/typo or was Midori lying? [5]
    • Ahaha, well, let's just say Midori may have been hiding some volumes from her publisher! [6]

Questions from Ask.fm[edit]

  • How much time does a typical unarmed combat specialist Eversor (such as Heartcatch Squad or Kumatora) put into grappling practice? How does that compare with a Cladius or a weapon using eversor? With their diverse morphology, I’m not sure being good at grappling is typically useful against witches.
    • it's part of their training as an Eversor, and if their ability set complements it or if they want to specialize in it, it's going to figure quite heavily into their daily training routine. Basic grappling is something that all Eversors learn, though, probably making up 20% of their career hours on the mat. And no, it's not useful against witches, but very useful against other magical girls![7]

  • Considering how powerful the First apparently is, can they take down Walpurgis on their own? Or even that is too much for them? I mean, considering various comments in the threads and here, it seems like those 20 girls are nearly invincible, and WP is supposed to be the end of the world.
    • They can, but they have bigger fish to fry. And they're not invincible- no one in the setting is. They can just output a whole lot of magic, but they can still be killed just like a regular Magical Girl. [8]

  • Bigger fish to fry? More than WP? Seriously? I suppose we are talking about Pinky, and this timeline Homu would have her eyes on TTO, no?

  • What's a rank leader's average day like?
    • "Yeah." Sayaka shrugs. "I thought getting to Rank Leader would solve all my problems, cut my workload in half." She shakes her head. "It didn't. I have to take care of an entire fucking RANK, Murderface. Gotta organize specialization and training programs, weapon checks, daily maintenance - as well as weekly mental and physical health checkups for every card-carrying Eversor, to make sure no one's going crazy or about to Witch Out all of a sudden." [10]

  • What is the First Warmaster even DOING that she's so busy? Don't they all just lounge around in their sweet moonfort and eat vegan food?
    • The biggest rips of the Akashic Portal happen around or on Pinky's grief seed. That's what keeps the First busy, mostly - they're sent out to close the worst ones and kill anything that manages to get through. Think of a WPN-level Witch manifesting near your headquarters on a daily basis, and you have to deal with them. That's why they can't leave the moon to deal with stuff that happens down below. [11]

  • When does the reserve squad typically get called in?
    • When the Warmaster is indisposed and can't handle things at the moment, or when she can't handle the threat by herself (a very rare case). [12]

  • I keep seeing discussion of Solution H. I imagine that waking up with more penis than you started with would be disturbing. Is there some sort of preparation for Solution H?
    • It's just like any over-the-counter drug for enhancing sexual performance, anon! Don't think too much on it, that way lies madness! [13]

  • What are the services of the Church of the Blessed Lady like?
    • Very solemn, with lots of choir songs and self-reflection. Much like a Roman Catholic mass. [14]

  • How much loyalty does a hired meguca have?
    • In all seriousness, she'll be quite loyal unless you do something that either violates her contract with you or disgust her enough that she checks herself out. But contracts with hired Magical Girls are usually reliable. They're good girls. This is one of the main causes of Officio-versus-Officio conflicts. [15]

  • Is the word "meguca" actually used for anything in the MGNQ universe?
    • Nope! The accepted nomenclature is 'Magical Girl ' or 'sparklie'. [16]

  • What about puella maga?
    • That's cultist talk! But also the Incubators use it to refer to their employees from time to time. Kyuubey and Eightball always snicker to themselves when Fuubey uses it. [17]

  • Could you tell us the metods and some examples of how Nicole and Malal pre-contract defeated sparklies? It's something that I always wanted to know, considering how difficult it has to be for a normal Cheating.
    • Shaped charges. Getting crazy good with a gun and basically anything to smack a Soul Gem to dust with. Taking advantage of the fact that Magical Girls are still girls - just a lot of mean things that Nicole or Malal are particularly proud about, but they had to do them to survive.
    • Malal also had a really strong intuition that bordered on precognition even when she wasn't contracted. It gave her nightmares and migraines constantly if she abused it. [18]

  • what event can make a huge betting ring in the 9th officio?
    • Sayaka versus Chiaki in another sparring match. [19]

  • Do any officios/other factions have any Maerorus in active rotation?
    • Nope. Only the First has them.
    • But the Thirteenth has their own secret projects. [20]

  • Are there any megucas in places of power outside of Officio control, like queens, princesses or politicians?

  • Is there any spy from the Twentieh in the Ninth? And in case the answer is yes... IS ONE OF THE GIRLS THAT WE KNOW????!!!!!
    • It's rumored that the Twentieth has spies in all the Officios. The only way to be sure is to purge your entire Officio down to the last girl, and then kill her just to be double-sure! [22]

  • Which religions correspond to red and blue truth?
    • I'm not sure if I can point out any equivalents, but the faith that believes in the Blood Knight's teachings would most likely be somewhat Viking-ish? Valhalla, fighting, drinking, so on. As for the First Knight, it would be hardcore Crusader catholic + Imperial Creed, with a strong emphasis of crushing heretics under your heel. [23]

  • In the MGNQ universe, who popularized the use of "dildos" in the 9th Officio and what is it's definition in context? Just an expletive?
    • That honor goes directly to Sayaka, after one of her visits to the Eighth. She didn't know the exact meaning of it (and she still doesn't) but she figured it was a really unique way to call someone a fucking idiot. And so it's taken root in the Ninth as part of the vernacular there, to call someone out on their lack of skill, common sense, or just being an idiot in general. [24]

  • Does the first officio issue meguca holidays?
    • Yep! There are holidays like Emperor's Day, Day of the First Knight, holidays where the Megucas can take breaks! [25]

  • What does the ideal Eversor breakfast look like?
    • High protein, high energy! Meat, preferably rare and bloody, with energy drinks! [26]

  • So, like, raw meat? Freshly killed meat? Meat that's alive right up until it's consumed?
    • Yep! Of course Sayaka just cooks a lot of steak for Kyoko. She's trying to make her eat healthier so instead of beef it's usually tuna or salmon. [27]

  • Sayaka hasn't be introduced to the 10/10 meat that is chicken I see. (red meat is supposed to be bad for you yes?)
    • It's bad for sedentary folk, yeah. But if you're really building muscle (and have a hyperactive Eversor metabolism) then protein is protein. [28]

  • 2 questions: Does the Church of the Blessed Lady have things like Saints? Did the Blessed Lady religion exit before the arrival of the 20 Officio-leading Incubators?
    • The Church does indeed have things like saints. And yes, it did! [29]

  • Who made the futa formula and why?
    • Amber Nakajima did. "For kicks." [30]

  • Does the futa formula work on non-magical girls?
    • Yes but it's generally not recommended because it stays permanent
    • I had to think about that in the middle of doing my reports at work
    • What am I doing [31]

  • When will the Futa Formula show up in quest?
    • It's called Solution H anon [32]

  • I have two question DECULTURE! Do magical girls of the nineth read teen age novels(like Fifty shades)? AND will sempai ever notice me?
    • MM x MM is the Fifty Shades of Magical Girls, Anon. It is that trashy.
    • And yes, sempai will notice you. Eventually. [33]

  • How much does your Officio/Officios pay its employees?
    • It's hard to pin it down to exact yen or dollar values, but suffice to say trainees or newcomers get a generous weekly allowance, active members on duty get a monthly salary based on rank, performance and mission output.
    • Chiaki's pay grade is basically The Officio's Bank account = Her bank account. She just needs Kyuubey's signed permission for any big purchases. [34]

  • Given Chiaki's popularity in the 9th, are there any MGs who have attempted to mimic her mannerisms or clothing styles? Were there any trends started by Chiaki?
    • Some Magical Girls tried out the cigarettes, whiskey and painkillers thing, but found that smelling like a spit-encrusted ashtray in some hole-in-the-wall bar on the wrong side of town wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
    • There was also a lot of broken wrists from people trying to one-hand a Desert Eagle.[35]

  • Does the 9th Officio have a war vehicle?

  • Are Eversor's taught to fight with missing limbs? Is that something that is trained in some Officios? Or is it just something you'll have to figure out on your own when it happens?‎
    • A little bit of both. I think Sayaka intentionally lops off an arm or a leg from her most promising trainees when they go up for multi-opponent sparring rounds. The Sixth does something similar in that regard. [37]

  • Do Eversors also get attitude training? Or do they all just have extreme personalities?
    • They have anger management classes. [38]

  • Do your Officios have any sort of hazing rituals/traditions that they put newcomers through?
    • One of the initiation rituals of the First is to space a new recruit without a suit or oxygen and force her to rely on her abilities to stay alive for an entire week. The First Warmaster survived for an entire month. [39]

  • Are there any Officios in Africa or India?
    • I don't think so. I'd hazard there are sattelite offices of nearby Officios there. [40]

  • Do Officios ever meet up to do something fun? Like organize magical football tournaments or Warmaster poker games?
    • There's always something like that year after year, yes. Like Inter-Officio Warmaster/Rank Leader fighting tournaments, tests of strength/skill and beauty pageants as well (especially for Callidus. The Twentieth are always no-shows.)
    • Vindicares from all over the world also congregate yearly at the Sixth Officio for a videogame tournament that Rea Ashford is the champion of for three years running. [41]

  • Whatever happened to Coobs discouraging workplace relationships? Did he notice the insane amounts of lesbianism one day and realize not even orbital bombardment from the first could stop this?
    • Pretty much that. He reminds everyone not to do it, but turns a blind eye to the stuff he sees. It's more 'just don't exchange spit in public where everyone can see' etc. [42]

  • Malal! What lead to the conception of the tradition that Culexuses must share a precognition of a friend's death before their skull can be painted on their helmet? Was it something you came up with? Who painted the skull on your helmet?
    • "It was something I learned from the Seventh's Spiritual Liege. People may see it as dark and morbid but I think it's a good exercise to be at peace with the impermanence of life, and the acceptance of the fact that we're all going to die someday. No other Magical Girl understands those two things better than a Culexus does. And marking your helmet with a skull is symbolic - you don't dread the knowledge that you've seen, you're wearing it as armor. You've accepted it, you've made peace with it, and no one can use it against you.
    • I had Xiaomei paint the skull for me, that's why it looks so good. She's actually quite good with a paintbrush, and she makes for great conversation even if she gets a bit too naggy at times.
    • Why skulls though? I don't know. Because they're cool? What do you want from me?" [43]

  • Is there a similar meguca:civilian ratio among Officios, or does it depend on the Officio?
    • It depends on the Officio! [44]

  • Other than Twitter/Chirpee, what other websites have different names in MGNQ?
    • Bad Dragon > Dildo Emperor's Dildo Emporium [45]

  • So just being insufferable isn't enough to get a magical girl retired?
    • Nnno. If you're a Magical Girl and you find someone else insufferable, you challenge them to an honor duel. If that doesn't settle it, you challenge them to a murder duel. [46]

  • What determines if a magical girl needs to be retired?
    • Incubators can track the state of Soul Gem purity of every girl contracted to them, as well as their general mental state and well-being. Sometimes they'll get flagged on a particular magical girl, who, while their gem may be pure, is quickly degenerating in a mental sense - probably someone whose power has compromised them, or simply breaking down from all the pressure, or even just going absolutely nuts. Their Soul Gems would slowly start to darken in a way that no Grief Seed would be able to resolve - it's that kind of despair that no one can come back from, and Incubators need to make sure they don't spread it to the other girls or they'll have a crisis on their hands. Thus, retirement. [47]

  • Are eversors generally proficient with all melee weapons?
    • They're trained to be proficient in a handful of weapons (minimum of ten) and be masterful at their favorite. But usually they can pick up any weapon and be reasonably deadly with it. [48]

  • I was thinking about the whole Oriko ordeal (that we still have to wrap up coughcoughDecucoughcough), and in addition to reading that one magical girl pirate writeup, how many rebellion magical girl groups are there?
    • Not a whole lot. Incubators rarely like loose ends running about. [49]

  • How involved were the incubators in historical political events (like WWII, Cold War, etc.)?
    • More than we know but less than they think! [50]

  • Can a meguca turn down a warmaster promotion?
    • Of course she can. Mami did it before, Malal did it. [51]

  • What's the current year of MGNQ?

  • On average, how long does it take to train each type of meguca?
    • Eversors and Vindicares usually take around three months to half a year. Callidus takes a year to two. Culexus train basically all their lives - which is three years max. Hahahaha! [53]

  • Aside from Walpurgisnacht, what other times do most of the officios work together?
    • When all the Incubators decide that a particular Magical Girl has fallen enough that she presents a terrible risk not only to their own pieces but also the entire game board, the Second will declare that magical girl as Diabolus Traitoris. The First will authorize it. The Magical Girl will then be hunted by all the Officios until she is killed. [54]

  • How proficient is your average Eversor with firearms and ranged weapons? How proficient is your average Vindicare with melee weapons?
    • Proficient enough to know that looking down the barrel to check for jams is wrong. Proficient enough to know that the pointy end goes into the other combatant! [55]

  • How effective was the Ninth under Vintage's administration?
    • Aggressive business growth, multiple revenue streams, even more aggressive mundane/magical staff recruitment drives...basically she helped the Ninth become a financial superpower. [56]

  • >effectiveness of Vintage's administration // In that case, how was Kharn's reign as Warmaster? Overall, did she increase or decrease the Ninth's standing among the other Officios?
    • Whenever Kharn slips the leash she's either fucking other magical girls or fighting them to the death. Sometimes both. Draw your conclusion. [57]

  • >Draw your conclusion. // True, though I was also wondering if Malal's influence had merely kept the Ninth from sinking (or failed to do even that), or had actually built upon what Vintage had already made.
    • She built upon it for sure. Vintage passed on as much knowledge as she could to Malal. [58]

  • Which Officio is, overall, the best at sex? What about the Officio that's best at being lewd?

  • >The Ninth // Is this only true ever since Midori joined the Ninth?

  • How do the Officios have huge stacks of Grief Seeds if a meguca pretty much needs to restore after like one witch fight on average, especially considering that there's sometimes more than one meguca fighting a witch?
    • That will be explained soon, hahaha! [61]

  • How do the Officios obtain Grief Seeds if they retire all their Puellas before they Witch out?
    • Sometimes they don't quite get to retire their Puellas before they Witch out. [62]

  • What does the average Eversor of the Ninth do to train?
    • Turning their bodies into INVINCIBLE KILLING MACHINES! [63]

  • What kind of training exercises?
    • Well, I haven't really thought of specifics, but Sayaka's training regimen for all Eversors (since she's Rank Leader now, she gets to set them) is basically a whole lot of skill and combat training juxtaposed with training exercises designed to make Eversors stronger, faster and harder. This means weightlifting and cardio. Some legendary ones include chopping off a novitiate's arm, giving her a sword, and having her fight off an entire squad and lasting for as long as possible. Live-weapon kumites are also common. [64]

  • Is Dethklok in the MGNQ Universe as ridiculously rich/hyped/popular as in the series? Or are they more realistically so, like Metallica, Queen and other legendary bands? What about Snakes N' Barrels, Thunderhorse and Zazz Blammymatazz?
    • They're more realistically famous like famous rock bands, same goes for the others. It's Super Idols like Kirishima Ruri that have achieved Metalocalypse Dethklok-like stardom. The entire Kirishima Ruri franchise earns enough money to buy Belgium. [65]

  • How do the Callidus trainees view Enishi?
    • "Miss Enishi's really good as a Callidus and as a trainer, but I think she's got a complex about losing her v-card or something..."
    • "Maybe she's had some bad experience with guys? I've tried helping her get an online dating profile, but she kept crying about how it keeps linking her to guys who wear hats a lot."
    • "Don't catch her in a bad mood, or she'll really ruin your day. By dragging you into her room and forcing you to watch these western movies about girls falling in love with the wrong guy. That's for the rest of the day, so say goodbye to your schedule."
    • "At least she's not as bad as Miss Sayaka, but please, someone get her laid!" [66]

  • How related are the Church of the Blessed Lady (Madokami followers) and the Cult that Wendy joined/infiltrated (Pinky followers)?
    • They're different sects, like the Roman Catholic Church is somewhat related but still seperate from, say, 7th Day Adventists. They still worship the same goddess, just not in the same way, or they worship different interpretations of her. [67]

  • Has the First actually contracted any of his current magical girls himself? Or are they all taken from other Officios?
    • I think one or two are contracted by the First personally. All the others are taken from other Officios. [68]

  • Are there doujins of the Miracle Midori doujins, and if there are how does Midori feel about Miracle Midori and Murder Mayumi being taken by faceless men?
    • Asked this one to Midori herself. Names have been changed to protect the innocent.
    • [Redacted]: I can imagine a substantially popular doujin series of an original property could probably inspire it's own doujins, yes.
    • [Redacted]: It's complicated. She knows that's just how a lot of doujins are. She can't really say she approves because magical girls raped by normal people feels like it's against the spirit of what she'd want in her setting.
    • [Redacted]: That, and she doesn't want to say anything good about rape at all, even though it happens in her own books and may or may not have have been complicit with it in real life.
    • [Redacted]: (In secret she thinks "room full of faceless men" rape porn isn't that bad, though.) [69]

  • are there officios in north/south poles?
    • There should be, or at the very least satellite offices. [70]

  • What would be the designation of a Magical Girl that wished to be an -extremely- good pilot? [or tank operator, driver, whatever]
    • Any of the other ranks. Any responsible Incubator will use that wish (moreso if it's a Culexus-worthy wish) to make sure that the magical girl has other uses BESIDES being someone behind the wheel. [71]

  • Has there been any other Warmasters of the Fourth aside from Petra?

    • Can megucas cause themselves to witch out? If so, what would happen if multiple girls did that next to each other at the same time?
    • Witching out isn't quite a voluntary thing, but it's kind of like how a suicide pact will go. There are certain substances and things you can do to trigger a self-witch out. If multiple witches manifest all at the same time, it can cause an amalgamation that may be tougher to put down than a single witch, and this'll necessitate multiple squads being rolled out to address it. [73]

  • How is an Eversor's weapon chosen? i.e. Sayaka and Kyouko just started using swords and spears because they were given to them, but could a girl ditch that and just use whatever?
    • Of course! An Eversor is always obligated to obtain perfect mastery of the weapon their Magical Girl form gives them, but they're also required to be handy with other stuff. [74]

  • so aside from the traditional form of putting a ring on it, what are the more popular things meguca's do to show that sign of commitment with their significant other/others?
    • They name weapons and final attacks after their loved ones. [75]

  • What is the Ninth the best at? What are they merely really good at?
    • Just like the Ninth, they're a great all-rounder - the Ryu to the Eight's Ken. They also offer attractie package deals for the discerning customer. [76]

  • What're the differences between prosthetic limbs from the Second and prosthetic limbs from the Fourth?
    • The Second gets a lot of help from the Fourth to develop their own tech, but mostly the difference is that tech from the Second = more about being able to take abuse/heavy combat usage, and the Fourth will be for more delicate things/modular tech/possibly multipurpose. [77]

  • So the Sixth 'gets all the bitches' as it were?‎
    • No, that's Kharn. The Sixth just smell pleasantly primal. Must be all the exercise and training they do! [78]

  • Which meguca parties hardest?
    • It is known that the Fourteenth throws the best parties. The Eighth throws the loudest. [79]

  • Are the numbers on all of the weapons supposed to represent arcanas (same as the Officios)
    • Yep! But the Officio numbers, not so much. They're just numbers corresponding to the Incubator that owns them. [80]

  • Was the officio system established on "first contact" or did the Incubators have a period where they did contracts in the original TV series? If so, are there any veteran girls from that period?
    • The latter, and no, they're mostly dead or Witched Out. [81]

  • I always thought Yuma & All Culexus of the 9th wore 1:1 hardsuits of Malal's design, but is AirtightTrash's on Yuma's hardsuit canon as of current time? or has she since swapped over?
    • I think AirtightTrash's version of Yuma's hardsuit is a bit simplified. Yuma's is slightly different, as with special cases. [82]

  • Does the Warmaster of the First have a special title?

  • Is there a warmaster hazing by other warmasters of other officios?
    • Hahahaha! Maybe! [84]

  • will there be a secret warmaster initiation rights?

  • Does the Ninth Officio have a mobile carrier/some sort of battleship/armored personnel carrier on-call? If it doesn't have a name yet, can Chiaki name it?
    • This is possible, hahaha! And yes, I suppose Chiaki could! [86]

  • which officio has a standard uniforms for formal events?
    • Pretty much all of them? Well maybe not the Eighth, because Mary Sue's suggestion of everyone wearing American flag jumpsuits was turned down. [87]

  • In this world, Sayaka seems to have some Iaido training, does it come naturally as a part of the "muh eversor sword proficiency" or did Sayaka have to learn from a master? Is her style that general freehand saber-dueling stuff or does she incorporate eastern swordplay when using her regular sword?
    • Eversors are more or less expected to be competent, if not be a master of a handful of styles. The Ninth Officio mandates that a neophyte must have mastery of at least ten styles, both armed and unarmed combat, to be minted as a fully-fledged Eversor. Sayaka takes that and ratchets it all up to insane degrees - I would say she spends most of her time just training, and training, and training to be the absolute best at what she does. If you've ever heard of the expression where you may think you're the best, but down the road, someone stronger and more talented is training themselves up to smash you into the ground? Sayaka wants to be that latter person for EVERYONE. [88]

  • Do megucas keep in touch with their parents if they're still around or is that frowned upon?
    • Nope! It's only that they don't talk too much about mission details or their work as Magical Girls. Less of a fuss that way. [89]

  • Does your Officio have any secret weapons/last resorts?

  • Are there any megucas that live with their parents or families? I so, how do they deal with not being able to share such a large part of their lives with the people they live with?
    • There are! And basically it's because of the money, or the prestige, or even being able to do things nobody else could. [91]

  • Do megucas keep in touch with their parents if they're still around or is that frowned upon?
    • Nope! It's only that they don't talk too much about mission details or their work as Magical Girls. Less of a fuss that way. [92]

  • Has a magical girl ever graduated college with a degree?
    • Of course! For Venenum, especially, you have to have a good handle on medicine and biology to be one. [93]

  • What determines if a magical girl lives in the Officio or in an apartment?
    • Her rank, and how well she gets along with the other girls in a communal quarters environment. [94]

  • Is the moon actually a giant robot?
    • No, there's just a moon base on it! [95]

  • What does the First do for fun?
    • Check out the nearby orbiting giant Grief Seed, be more powerful than anyone else on the planet, hold themselves back from drawing dicks on Offico headquarters with the moon laser, bowling. Bowling is pretty big there. [96]

  • If they don't draw dicks on the earthside Officio HQs, do the members of the 1st ever get creative with lazed art on non-officio surfaces?

  • Do you think short megucas like Rea and Odette have support groups for coping with their shortness?
    • Not really, no. I don't think they get bothered too much by being megucalets. [98]

  • How many magical girls actually make it through college, with a degree and everything?
    • Quite a lot! Kyuubey offers advanced and accelerated classes once megucas graduate from high school, if they want to do it full time (24-hour classes, that kind of thing). [99]

  • Besides the Culexus, how is the category of a magical girl chosen anyways? If it's on the weapon they get, how would they choose whether or not to be a Callidus? What if they have no weapon? Can they still be an Eversor or Vindicare?
    • The Incubator generally decides what kind of rank they're going into, and they usually can tell with the Soul Gem they make. They CAN choose to be a Callidus after basic training, provided they pass the trials for it and the Incubator/Warmaster approves. If they have no weapon, one will be provided. And yes, they can be an Eversor or Vindicare if they want. [100]

  • 17th officio is surely the politest, but which officio(s) are the nicest? The most magnanimous?
    • Hmm, I don't know about the nicest, because all Officios have their own interests. Maybe the Seventh fits your category? They're a refuge for disgraced/hunted Magical Girls who just want to disappear, and they help overwrite contacts. Getting to them is no easy feat, though. [101]

  • What do you do to earn retirement? The legit kind.
    • 1. Don't fuck up
    • 2. Remember #1
    • Seriously, though, it's more of just keeping your head on straight, doing your missions as efficiently and as safely as you could, no screwing up your friends behind their back - just hard work, dedication, and respect. That's what all megucas are told on day one. [102]

  • Is being a member of the Officio a life-long affair? If not, how long?
    • Once you sign the dotted line, the only way you get out is either by retirement or in a coffin. [103]

  • Outside of the Eighth and the Ninth, how much does the average Eversor get paid yearly?
    • It's hard to nail down a figure, but I would say that it's enough to comfortably live on and buy a car with, possibly a house in a year. An Eversor certainly wouldn't have to worry about rent or gas, but may have to scrimp if they have an expensive hobby. [104]

  • Issat why Vanus are being phased out?
    • Nah, it's just that some Vanus tend to overwork themselves/get carried away. [105]

  • What's the difference of Mami not being an Aide to the Warmaster, but instead and aide to the Incubator?‎
    • She's just slightly higher up the ladder, as well as handles the Incubator's really tough stuff (goes with him on the Moon trips, as such). [106]

  • Are there any rogue meguca crime lords?
    • There are a few, definitely. [107]

  • In the MGNQ-verse is Metal Wolf Chaos a video game or an Action Documentary?

  • In the grim darkness of MGNQ, are there any major changes to the world structure that haven't been explicitly mentioned? (Countries that ceased to exist, alternate histories, etc)
    • Hmm, well...I don't think there are really MAJOR changes to the world structure. Maybe some disasters don't have as many casualties because of discreet magical girl rescue squads. [109]

  • Do Offico educate MGs that come from impoverished or uneducated backgrounds? If so, what does a program like that look like?
    • Scholarships! They're also tasked to go to school whenever they're not out of the weekly duty rotation. [110]

  • So you're telling me that MGs have to go to school? That's lame. What happens if they play hooky or something?
    • They get punished by their squad leader, or rank leader. In public. [111]

  • How do megucas operate in areas that are heavily religious/misogynistic like Saudi Arabia? Do costumes change to conform with local standards?
    • Callidus would usually take care of that kind of thing! [112]

  • What makes Mitakihara Town so special that _3_ Incubators worked it at one point? Why not set up shop in Tokyo or something?‎
    • Kyuubey was the original Incubator who was tasked to manage it. The Third simply moved operations because he wanted to assist his younger brother at first. Jyuubey wanted to prove himself by taking over an older brother's territory.
    • If you ask all three of them, though, they'll say that they're strangely drawn to the place. A sort of 'if you build it, they will come' kind of vibe. [113]

  • Are there any other species with the 'despair equals more energy' power that Incubator's exploit?

  • Does there exist actual Pirate Magical Girls in MGNQ
    • I wouldn't discount the possibility! [115]

  • How do Incubators find and contract girls who are not in the immediate area? Do they have "talent scouts" who bring promising girls in? Do they take leave from the office to look for likely candidates?
    • Yes to all two. All Officios have different approaches to getting contractees, but a general agreement among all Incubators is that no trickery should ever be involved. [116]

  • How many Vindicares can level a town with magic?
    • Quite a handful! But again, no Incubator is going to allow that kind of thing from happening without his permission. [117]

  • Are there any other Aliens active on earth other than Incubators? If so, will they show up in the quest?

  • Homura/Chiaki uses mostly non-magical firearms, but what about the other vindicares? Do they have their own magical weapons or do they use normal ones?
    • They have their own magical weapons, but they're often used as a last resort if non-magical firearms are available. [119]

  • So we know about the Black Templars of the 2nd...what is the rest of the Inquisition like? Is it anything like its 40k counterpart as portrayed in Abnett's books? Is it different?
    • The Inquisition is quite similar to kind of Inquisitors in Abnett's Eisenhorn/Ravenor series, yes. [120]

  • Do the girls of the eighth usually fly out across the states or are their branch offices in every major american city?
    • Yes to the latter. They usually have at least a satellite office staffed with a squad of girls. [121]

  • Why would the templars want Kyoko when Sayaka is their saint?
    • They were going to extend their invitation to Sayaka too, until Murderface decided she'll be her Equerry. But besides that, they know that not even Kyuubey will accept that kind of deal. [122]

  • If the Officios got into a Battle of the Bands competition, what genre / style does each pick and who plays what instrument?‎
    • First - Enka
    • Second - Dropkick Murphys
    • Third - N/A
    • Fourth - DUUUUUUB STEEEEEEEEP
    • Fifth - N/A
    • Sixth - Surfer music? Maybe? With Didgeridoos?
    • Seventh - Lots of mystical shit
    • Eighth - NU METAL HARDCORE RAP
    • Ninth - DEATH METAL
    • Tenth - none because they suck
    • Eleventh - N/A
    • Twelfth - N/A
    • Thirteenth - Classical
    • Fourteenth - lots of rousing loud orchestras with CANNONS and shit
    • Fifteenth - N/A
    • Sixteenth - N/A
    • Seventeenth - Ask Archival
    • Eighteenth - N/A
    • Nineteenth - N/A
    • Twentieth - LOUD ANNOYING IDOL JPOP [123]

  • How many megucas have their own sponsors?
    • Mary Sue Springfield is sponsored by Red Bull, and she has her own barbecue sauce! [124]

  • Any mottos the different officios would have?
    • Hmm, you'll have to ask the writeup guys for that! [125]

  • The Thirteenth *for a given measure of 'healing'*, you mean, right?‎
    • You can't learn how to take a body apart until you know how to put it back together again, make it walk around and serve tea! [126]

  • Is the Eighth Officio undefeatable in Basketball!?
    • They are masters of the slam [127]

  • Are there any medically inclined officios? Like ones that focus on cures, medicine and healing techniques?‎

  • What do contracted MGNQ girls think of shows like Precure in their universe? pre and post contract differences?
    • It's like meeting your heroes and seeing that they're really nothing like you imagined them to be. But a lot of contracted girls still like to watch those kind of shows. [129]

  • "But a lot of contracted girls still like to watch those kind of shows. " Why?

  • does chiaka as a warmaster have enough power to make Mami's birthday a holiday within the officio? declare it as Mamis day!?

  • Do any megucas have nanomachines in their bodies?
    • Only a few, really! Nanomachines are really expensive and hard to maintain, only America can afford it for its Warmaster. [132]

  • What is a 'normal' Blessed Lady church service like? I think we've only seen the Pinky-style bloodrites version, which I assume isn't the usual way things go.‎
    • Basically the same as any Roman Catholic mass. There's solemn praying, singing of church hymns, sermons, that kind of thing. Confessions are common, too. [133]

  • Are there non-Magical Girl adherents to the Blessed Lady religion? How numerous are they? No one. Any mundane folk trying to get into a congregation or what gets politely pushed out. Entrances are also cloaked by passive Callidus enchantment. [134]

  • What about ones that worship from home? You don't have to go to a church or a group thing to worship. Are there even any that know of her existence?
    • Well, basically everyone who ascribes to the religion is just taught to make sure that no one says too much about it. [135]

  • How much stock do Officios put in Psychiatrists and Psychotherapists? And if so, how much of that staff is nonmagical?
    • They do take stock in it, especially the Ninth, and I think a good few of the staff is nonmagical (most likely 30%). Of course, this is part of the reason why the Blessed Lady religion is such a hit, too - it gives the magical girls something to believe in that's bigger than them. [136]

  • Do any of the Officios use the nicknames for WPN?
    • The Eighth definitely does! [137]

  • Whats the magical girl situation like in places like China India and Africa? I'd imagine the population density would make witches a major problem.
    • There is a bit of a scarcity of Magical Girls in those places, but usually they'd be handled by the Officios nearest to them. Each officio has satellite offices in the continent they're in, anyway, so it's not just the city that the Officio headquarters is built into that gets their protection. [138]

  • Are Eversors of the Ninth trained in small energy blasts and lite ranged tactics using their weapons if possible? You know, to close distance and make self-covering fire? Or do they exclusively rely on their speed and/or Vindicare Overwatch?
    • Yes, they are, mainly to protect themselves. Sometimes if there's really no chance of developing that kind of acuity, they're taught to learn how to shield themselves. [139]

  • is warmaster approval rating a thing? if it is then how long does one need to be in power for a poll to be launched?
    • There's a survey launched by the Vanus Department every month. [140]

  • Does the Ninth get all its syrup for Warmaster Chiaki shipped to them direct from the Seventeenth? Mami has worked out an agreement with the Seventeenth. It's an ironclad one. [141]

  • Maybe Chiaki would bother to manage her officio if she was given a Mother Base-esque module ala MGS: Peacewalker? I'd bet the 4th or the 13th already developed something as such too!

  • Do Tachikoma think-tanks exist in MGNQ?
    • Hahaha, probably at the Fourth! [143]

  • What kind of martial-arts training are Eversors supposed to go through at the Ninth? is it different for different officios?
    • I would say so, yes. Martial arts native to the country they're in, basically, along with some uni-Officio martial arts disciplines. Every Magical Girl is taught at basic training to be able to defend themselves hand-to-hand. [144]

  • Would a short-sighted texas-gunman-shootout type magical girl who is absolutely dildos at long range accuracy still be considered a Vindicare? In spite of the fact their effective range [until trained otherwise] is at close quarters [say, effective Eversor] range?
    • You just described Mary Sue Springfield, Warmaster of the Eighth. (She's getting better at long range, though). I would say that it applies from case to case? Your girl could easily 'multi-rank' in Eversor if she wants to. [145]

  • Does each respective officio get excited for the world cup? Do they end up taking shady jobs from FIFA? (if you're not up to date on FIFA being dildoes, John Oliver's rant on FIFA is a good place to start)
    • They do get excited, yes! Not too sure about the shady jobs though, hahaha! [146]

  • how much is the company making the kong drink if chiaki want's to buy it?
    • It's a relatively small company producing cheap whiskey. She wouldn't want to buy them out, but it's pretty affordable with a Warmaster's yearly salary. [147]

  • Is narco violence a thing in Santa Destroy?
    • I would say so! Santa Destroy is pretty hardcore. [148]

  • Other than the First, which Officio is the best at killing a person? Which one's best at murdering lots of persons? Killing a magical girl? Slaughtering a bunch of magical girls?
    • That's a very hard question to answer, because pretty much all of them are very good at killing things and other magical girls. It's in the different ways that they do it that set them apart. For instance, the Twentieth can kill a Warmaster in public view of her Officio and make it look like she just disappeared. [149]

  • Pinky forbids lesbian sex? That's hilarious! Is she going to friendzone Murderface again at the end of the quest?
    • Hahaha, no, not really! It's just that the people behind the Blessed Lady religion made it a tenet to forbid illicit relationships between girls, because it's forbidden love. Probably they had an inkling that forbidden love screwed up something huge. [150]

  • What kind of jobs are the different officios best at?
    • The First = Pretty much the best at everything
    • The Second = Knightly charges/crusades/Witch destruction
    • The Third = Money
    • The Fourth = Anything mechanical/construction
    • The Fifth = unknown at the moment
    • The Sixth = Witch hunting/Surfing
    • The Seventh = Mediating/Peacekeeping
    • The Eighth = America
    • The Ninth = All-rounders
    • The Tenth = Illegal activities
    • The Eleventh = unknown at the moment
    • The Twelfth = unknown at the moment
    • The Thirteenth = SCIENCE
    • The Fourteenth = Lewd
    • The Fifteenth = unknown at the moment
    • The Sixteenth = Quick smash-and-grab types, protection, tactics
    • The Seventeenth = all-rounders
    • The Eighteenth = unknown at the moment
    • The Nineteenth = unknown at the moment
    • The Twentieth = espionage and subterfuge [151]

  • What do the Second and Fourteenth define as heretical?
    • Pretty much everything that they feel would make the Blessed Lady cry, from worshiping her in the wrong manner to lesbian sex. But the Fourteenth has been a bit radical with that lately, and Raleigh Alondight has been mellowing out the puritanism of the Second as of late (although they'll still smash any revealed bloodthirsty cults or magical girls that use their powers for evil). [152]

  • > from worshiping her in the wrong manner to lesbian sex ...and the Second hasn't wiped nearly every magical girl off the planet because?
    • The Second's High Inquisitor was recently inducted into the First, so puritanism with the second has mellowed out on that regard. [153]

  • So what does the Sixth do other than surf, train super hard for surfing, and churn out lunatics? What does the Eighth do other than be 'Murican? What's the Seventeenth's raison d'etre?
    • I think the Sixth does a lot of community work stuff for Australia, too. They're pretty great with that. The Eighth also keeps the really skeezy, Assassin-ridden population of Santa Destroy (and Varrigan City) in check. For the Seventeenth, they're doing what they can to survive in a world where all the other Officios are fucking insane. [154]

  • Is there any Officio outside the First that polices the other Officios?
    • You can say the Second and the Fourteenth can look at other Officios and tap 'em on the shoulder saying 'Oi, dat's a bit too heretical, pack it in'. [155]

  • What are the goals and motivations of the various Officios?
    • Not as a whole, but individually? Contribute to the battle against heat death by contracts, and basically do their own thing as they see fit, but without fucking up too much! [156]

  • Really?! No necrons in MGNQ?

  • Fourth has South America? Coulda swore you said it was Eighth before...‎
    • I really need to get back and read my notes, hahaha [158]

  • Is there an Officio that has a jurisdiction over Africa and South America?
    • Hmm. Africa, probably not, but South America should be under the Fourth's protection. [159]

  • What do you have to do to become a member of the Twentieth?
    • You have to be a very good Callidus, not just in technique but also in personality and temperament. The sort of Callidus that can disappear forever whenever she likes, who doesn't have many friends, and just really being dedicated to the job. [160]

  • How do the different officios handle borders and territory? Do national borders = Officio borders, or do things get more nebulous than that? For instance would the seventeenth bleed into the eastern seaboard of the USA, or the sixth into the Oceania region?
    • It's a bit more nebulous, but it's sort of an unwritten rule unless two officios share one country. Eighth is very particular about USA USA USA USA, Seventeenth is very particular about Canada. [161]

  • Are the incubators concerned that their activities on Earth may be drawing the wrong type of attention from other powerful species? Or are they largely the only major players given their tech and understanding of the universe?
  • 8Most likely the latter, but I wouldn't discount the former! [162]

  • How much of a problem is PTSD for magical girls?
    • I would say it's a very real issue, but then again the in-combat magical girls undergo rigorous mental and physical training to at least be prepared for it. The girls that get chosen for really dangerous ones are often those that can 'take' it, however, even if things start to go to shit. Still, sometimes all it takes are friends who can really understand to help someone cope (i.e. your own fellow magical girls). At-risk girls or girls who really get affected are quietly reassigned to less combat roles, or assigned long furloughs. [163]

  • Do magical girls get assigned according to the Incubators that contracted them?
    • I would say so! If a girl is contracted by Kyuubey, it automatically follows that she will be a member of the Ninth Officio! [164]

  • What sets the Sixth apart from other Officios, besides Australia?
    • Their love of noice waves! [165]

  • What do the normal office workers of the Ninth think/know about the magical girls? They HAVE to notice the unusually high numbers of highschool girls wandering around.
    • Some of them know but they're all made to sign NDAs. They're paid well enough to keep quiet. [166]

  • What sets the Eighth apart from the other Officios?

  • What sets the Ninth apart from the other Officios?
    • It's one of the most well-funded and lucrative Officios you can find, with the best facilities and the best training programs, a great retirement package, benefits for your family even after you kick it. The downside is that the missions can get really dangerous. [168]

  • When are we getting magical girls in lewd symphogear?
    • The Fourth has a few of them I think. Namely the one with the death metal attacks? I forget her name. [169]

  • The Seventh has been stated to be Peacekeepers, but what do they actually do to earn that title?
    • The Seventh strives for balance, mostly. While most of its Officio are spread all over the world as wandering Magical Girls, those who stay in its home base are skilled negotiators and mediators that are skilled in smoothing over rivalries and slights. They're pretty tough too, but don't bandy it around. [170]

  • There are active witches out there? What happens if the girls can't stop one or it gets away? Does it just kinda wander around on its own? Or is that pretty much always worst case when one slips the net?
    • There are, and usually other squads are notified it if gets away or kills the squad sent to kill it. [171]

  • What does Incubator flesh taste like? Would there be negative effects to a human/ MG if they ate it?
    • If the Incubator's been in that body for a while, it'll taste like marshmallows. If it's a recent transfer, you'll be eating cat. [172]

  • What would a school tour with the ninth entail?
    • Counseling, career talks, magical girl magic shows (made to look like an actual magic show, for the kids). Basically it's not a recruitment drive, it's to make sure that young girls who have their lives ahead of themselves DON'T think that contracting is a viable career choice. [173]

  • does the officios held some sort of fun events?(excluding kharn related stuff) if so then what are they?
    • Well, I imagine some of them would have outreach programs to fulfill social responsibilities and that sort of thing. The Eighth would have car wash drives with Magical Girls in bikinis, The Ninth would have school tours and so on, the Sixth would hold surfing contests. Something of that like. [174]

  • which officio is on the brink of bankruptcy/most poorest in terms of funds?
    • The Twelfth, but they stick with donation drives and their own money so they're somewhat stable. [175]

  • Another Walmart or a Hyades appears over a city (post WPN). What are the reactions by the officios and their actions? Note that it would appear out of no where, with out any notice.
    • Coordinate with the First for instructions and launch assaults accordingly. If it truly was something the progs don't pick up, the First would deploy its Warmaster and her five-person retinue to take care of it personally. [176]

  • In Psycho-Pass, the Sybil System could measure how deranged was the psyche of any person. This measurement could be made at any given moment, using the huge computing power of the Sybil System. Is there any device that resembles the Sybil System in MGNQ, capable of measuring the hue of a soul gem?
    • I would say so. The Thirteenth helped develop scanners for that, integrating them in Culexus' Anima Speculum helmets. Each hospital wing of an Officio should have one too. And an incubator can remotely keep track of someone's soul gem purity. [177]

  • How do governments deal with the insecurity that comes with knowing that inscrutable aliens can easily have their politicians/leadership all killed by magical girls if they want to?
    • They deal with it by ignoring it or reaching out and making agreements and treaties with the Incubators in question. There's a bit of a cold war going on with the countries who have magical girls under their employ, in that the first nation to use magical girls offensively against other countries will result in magical girl counterattacks on a grand scale.
    • Some nations are developing anti-magical girl tech, too, with the discreet help of the Sixteenth. [178]

  • do other aliens exist?

  • During major conflicts, what do the Incubators do to prevent magical girls from running off to support their countries?
    • Some of them allow it, unless there's interests at stake. But usually all it takes is a stern word to remind them that they don't move unless the Incubator wants them to. [180]

  • How much of humanity's technological advancement was because of the Incubators?
    • I would say not a lot, they're a bit greedy when it comes to giving technology over (with exception of the Fourth Officio). [181]

  • What powers does being Canadian grant?
    • I'm assuming you're asking about the Seventeenth, so one is a stupid good emotional tenacity. The senior Magical Girls of that Officio are very resistant to witching out. [182]

  • no but seriously what is canada officio like
    • Well, besides all the benefits, obviously - I think it's more or less an Officio that's on par with the Eighth or Ninth, but with certain differences. For example, they currently have the largest Culexus division of all the Officios, which really speaks a lot about how they take care of them. The Incubator's a decent sort, rivalries can be heated but generally civil (well besides how Odette can get a bit extreme). [183]

  • Does contracting with certain officials carry inherent advantages?
    • Sure. Contracting with the Sixth gets you the harshest training available (besides the First) and you can surf all you like. For the Seventh, you get an inherent amount of freedom, but you have to generally go out and do public service discreetly. The Eighth = America. The Ninth, you get to be a dildo. Thirteenth you get to be a nerd, Fourteenth you get to be Nero's concubine, Sixteenth you get to be tacticool, Seventeenth you get all the syrup you want, Twentieth you just disappear. [184]

  • Why didn't the US government hired a group of mercenary magical girls to win the Vietnam War? I am sure that in another timeline they used a blue naked nuclear physicist, and a working class shotgun wielding rapist Batman, to stop communism from spreading to SE Asia.
    • Incubators rarely like it if their girls become involved in incidents like Vietnam, but I'm sure a handful were deployed to protect the soldiers from afar. Not enough to win, though, merely to help. [185]

  • Do they have vampires and protestant knights in the Second? You know, the cup-E-sized kind of vampires, that fire a pair of Harkonnen rifles to bring down a zeppelin.
    • Hahaha, I would definitely say so. [186]

  • So, why did the First Officio decide to place their base on the moon?
    • Uninterrupted line of sight anywhere for their moon laser! [187]

  • Who is the lewdest girl in the Ninth?
    • That's obvious! It's Midori! [188]

  • Who was the lewdest girl in the Ninth before Midori became part of it?
    • That would go to Enishi, then. [189]

  • About roughly how many girls does each Officio have?
    • It varies wildly between 2000-500, depending on their recruitment policies. The Ninth has the highest count at 2000~ or so, while the Fourth has less than 400~. [190]

  • How does an Incubator's Aide rank compared to Warmaster and Equerry?
    • The Incubator's Aide helps the Incubator run the massive logistic side of things that don't specifically have to do with anything the Warmaster's duties. It's not as high up the ladder to Warmaster and Equerry, certainly, they outrank her, but most of the Officio also depends upon her for the nitty-gritty stuff. A 'Shadow Warmaster' is a very apt description. [191]

  • How many Magical Girls does one need to change a lightbulb?
    • Just one, but they need to sign the paperwork for it first. If it's the Sixth, well, they'll wolf the hell out of it until someone sensible like Eleanor or their Warmaster comes around. [192]

  • If the Sixteenth tried before and they got rekt, then how was it never attempted before?
    • Because it was a reactionary attempt, really. They didn't know the First was there, they just piled in. They knew after they got rekt. So it doesn't count as a real attempt. [193]

  • How many Magical Girls would it take to take down a girl from the First Officio?
    • An entire Officio's worth is the official rumor. It's never been done or attempted before (although the Sixteenth did give their go, with disastrous results). [194]

  • How does a Magical Girl get into the First Officio?
    • Well, generally the first step would be being a Warmaster for some time, and be able to catch the eye of the First with your deeds and actions. [195]

  • Then why wasn't somebody Khan recruited?
    • If you mean Kharn, then the First passed her over because she was a bit too unstable. [196]
