Questions from Threads[edit]

Thread 79b[edit]

  • Is Tiny Pete outclassed by golden weapon users? [1]
    • Tiny Pete is really strong! Even being a Golden Weapon user can't protect you from ten tons of pure awesome! [2]

Questions from Ask.fm[edit]

  • What flavour is the Futa Juice?

  • Is Kyouko's pocky actually coated in LSD?
    • No, she just likes sweet things, anon! [4]
  • How many bottles of the 13ths patented Funtime Futa Formula™ Does Mami have? What about Kharn?
    • Kharn used to be Nakajima's best customer. Mami has her own subscription. [5]

  • Can the Futa Formula cause pregnancies? Or would there need to be more research into it?
    • It does, but there are condoms and safe days and morning after pills and so on. Birth control is still a thing, and if you want to make it more permanent just schedule an appointment with your Officio Venenum
    • Nakajima Pharmaceuticals is funded by Weyland-Yutani, jet fuel can't melt steel beam [6]

  • How often do the Venenum have to surgically remove soul gems that end up "going in too deep"
    • God dammit anon
    • Answer is: Not that often, but there's always an uptick in incidence when the recruitment period comes in. Newly-contracted magical girls get curious and try new things. It got so bad that the Venenum had to give out pamphlets for it. Magical Girls and hormones, man [7]

  • How does a magical girl perceive the inside of her soulgem when confined to it (either by body destruction or otherwise)? Is it a surreal dreamscape, or does the MG consciousness go into a catatonic state?
    • I've always seen it as something of the Magical Girl just falling into a dark, dreamless sleep whenever they get their body destroyed (akin to being comatose, or when Space Marines trigger their sus-an membrane to preserve their minds and body when they get too damaged). But if they sleep for too long, they may have a chance of waking up in that sensory-deprived state - which could cause a Witch Out. To address that, Officios have trained their Magical Girls to either prolong the sleep as much as they can, or go into a 'lucid dreaming' state - where they force themselves to dream of things they like doing, in order to stave off Soul Gem corruption. That's what Kyoko is doing now, most likely. [8]

  • Can a girl who has made the transition switch between various Ironforms; like different Light variants? Can they have a new flesh body regenerated for them?
    • I think that's possible! As for the flesh body regenerated, it's also possible but I think in Fourth culture that's absolutely haram [9]

  • How ludicrous can golden weapons get? For instance, could the warmaster of the 16th have a golden Metal Gear?
    • Hahaha! Well, mostly they're weapons to be held and used. Unfortunately there are no golden weapon 'vehicles'. [10]

  • For people who use Golden Weapons and are corrupted by them: do only normals turn into weird monsters like Kilgore did, or does anyone who goes full Flesh of Fallen Angels go monstrous? What about original Golden Weapon owners?
    • It all depends on how much you 'depend' on the Golden Weapon. It turns everyone who uses it into a monster, but in different ways, and in different speeds/extents. Think of its corrupting influence like Chaos. But normals will be turned much more quickly, yes, unless they've got extraordinary resolve (and even then it'll still be quick, only slightly delayed). Original Golden Weapon owners will also turn, but in a way that idealizes them to the use of the Golden Weapon. [11]

  • Are there Golden Weapons that don't have past users in them yet, then? Does the weapon itself have a personality, or are they basically just lumps of really nice metal at first? Or did Pinky give them all out to people who she knew would be corrupted by them quickly?
    • Yes, there are Golden Weapons that are 'empty'. But generally the 'Chosen' are the ones that will get corrupted really fast. [12]

  • Are the Golden Weapons inherently evil? Or are they more based on the user, aside from the corruption?
    • They're based mainly on the user. They're not inherently evil, but they do carry the past user's spirit, and thus could be influenced by them. [13]

  • Regarding regenerating limbs and such; does using a Golden Weapon increase the chance of not being able to regenerate? Also, did Kyoko lose her eye to Kirika's claws or the katana?
    • Yes, Golden Weapons have that kind of ability where they can cause permanent wounds that just won't regenerate. Kyoko lost her eye to a magic-enhanced katana, but it wasn't the golden katana itself. [14]

  • What about a golden weapon that didn't have a past user?
  • They'd just tempt the user into doing things that they've always wanted to do, but always stopped themselves from doing. [15]

    • Is Skulltaker or Gorefather and Gorechild considered Kharn's iconic weapon?
    • Skulltaker is more iconic, but after she got the chainaxes they became her signature, yes. [16]

    • Were the Culexus suits being Biker Themed just Malal's taste or is there a practical reason to it?
    • "Do you think I'm twelve? Look, alright, I know it's cool and badass but there's a reason it looks like a hardcore biker outfit. The combination of leather, padding and studs offer the highest amount of both protection and flexibility that a Culexus needs in her day-to-day. The magnetic hardpoints at the back and wrists and legs, along with the multitude of pockets all over, allow for a maximum amount of on-suit storage for tools and equipment without having to rely on your inventory. The helmet, again, not only gives the Culexus protection against projectiles and bladed weapons - or blunt force trauma in case you're up against someone stupid - but also grants them an up-to-date HUD display with visual filters ranging from night vision to infrared and echolocation. Add everything up and you've got a Culexus who won't die on the first day of field duty, much less turn to ash if she suddenly panics and loses focus."
    • "...Well, what about the skull designs--"
    • "I JUST THINK IT'S COOL OKAY?!" [17]

  • Culexus suits are custom built per the user, right? Could one have a suit built that wasn't in the traditional totally-not-Akria-from-Rival-Schools hardboiled biker look? Like plate mail with great helm or modern riot police or something?‎
  • 8There are variants, yeah, and I can see a knight-like Culexus variant. The Second possibly has one of those. [18]

  • Just because a weapon is gold doesn't designate it as one of the 20 Golden Weapons right? (if it wasn't already confirmed maybe-fake ala Kyoukos)

  • Chosen, hm? Does that mean the original owner or the current owner? I mean... is Yuu the bangle's Chosen or is it Chiaki, since Yuu is dead and the ownership is Chiaki's?‎
    • The original owner. Ownership of the weapon transfers to the one currently holding it when the current spirit inside 'accepts' you completely, or you use it enough times that it's definitely taken a hold of you. Once you do that all the weapon's abilities are unlocked, so to speak. [20]

  • Was what happened to Kilgore with the gauntlets just with normies or can that happen with megucas?
    • Being turned into a monster? It can and will happen to anyone who's not contracted. [21]

  • How durable is the Golden Deagle? If Chiaki had enough grit and footing, would she be able parry a sword (either from an enemy MG or some normie) with the barrel, if only temporarily?
    • She can, yes! It's pretty much unbreakable, especially when she's the one using it. [22]

  • >When she's the one using it. //...You mean, the golden weapon can be broken? That sounds like it could complicate things.
    • Well, Golden Weapons can still be damaged, like what happened to the gauntlets. Not outright destroyed, and even then it could fix itself. It just generally behaves better when it's in the hands of its Chosen. [23]

  • Because Risa is Australian, does this mean that Chiaki gets a bonus to throwing & catching the Golden Chainaxes like boomerangs/tomahawks when channeling her help?
    • Hahaha! Well, the chainaxes are also made to be throwable despite their size, and with summonable chains that wrap around the handles and around Chiaki's wrists, she can use them like Kratos' blades. [24]

  • How many points is a kneecap worth? Chiaki recently kneecapped someone, so I figured we should be on the lookout for any new confessions.
    • Kneecaps are 10000 points automatic [25]

  • are there any non golden weapons that can talk in MGNQ?
    • Well, there are some magical weapons that do. They're more of 'STANDING BY' / 'FULL CHARGE' / DEATHCANNON LOADED kind of deal. [26]

  • Does the arcana of the golden weapons have any real significance?
  • Yes, they do. The arcana figures into how destructive each one is, as well as their underlying purpose and abilities. [27]

  • Kharn may be the exception, but does the wielder of a Golden Weapon have to die for it to be passed on to another person?
    • That is usually the way to do it. A former user has to be killed, or willingly hand it over. [28]

  • Are the numbers on all of the weapons supposed to represent arcanas (same as the Officios)
    • Yep! But the Officio numbers, not so much. They're just numbers corresponding to the Incubator that owns them. [29]

  • I always thought Yuma & All Culexus of the 9th wore 1:1 hardsuits of Malal's design, but is AirtightTrash's on Yuma's hardsuit canon as of current time? or has she since swapped over?
    • I think AirtightTrash's version of Yuma's hardsuit is a bit simplified. Yuma's is slightly different, as with special cases. [30]

  • If Kharn got in a bind, can she still summon Gorefather/child? Or do they only respond to Chiaki, now?‎
    • If she's really in danger, maybe, but it's hard considering Chiaki's now their owner. She will be able to summon Malal (her chainsword) though. [31]

  • So they could restore the knees of someone from a different Officio, but not Kyouko's EYE?!
    • Kyuubey himself personally tried. There was something strange going on with Kyouko's injury. It's a bit of a spoiler, but suffice to say it's a part of the Golden Weapons' unpredictability when it comes to damaging Magical Girls. They're fragments of an insane goddess, after all! [32]

  • If enchanted weapon wounds take a shitton of magic to heal, what about Midori? Didn't she get shot in the knees by the GDeagle?
    • Yes, and the Venenum at the Ninth healed her up well and good. [33]

  • Does Pinky eat wandering ghosts too?
    • No, but she does play and tease with the ghosts inside the Golden Weapons. Especially Risa, who she tortures with Mobius strips a whole lot. [34]

  • Just because a weapon is golden doesn't mean Pinky gave it to them right?
    • Nope! Just because a weapon's gold doesn't mean it's part of the 20 Golden Weapons. [35]

  • Is Golden Weapon XVIII: The Golden Rock a canonical Golden Weapon?
    • It's not the Golden Rock, it's the Moon! But yes! [36]

  • Can Chiaki actually rely on her buckler as a shield like an Eversor-type Shield Magical Girl can?
    • She definitely can! It's just a matter of using the edge and stuff. [37]

  • When do we get to add the saw blade to the edge of the shield already?!‎
    • Chiaki would definitely make a few panties get creamed if she takes another step towards adopting the Murder Mayumi image. Turning the shield into the Genocider Cutter is a good start. Shame we can't do anything about her height and noodliness, though! [38]

  • " She definitely can! It's just a matter of using the edge and stuff. "// I meant to actually block stuff. Both Heavy and Annoying spitfire. Or are Chiaki arms too noodly to block heavy artillery/hard hits?
    • Maybe in desperation, sure! [39]

  • When a Golden Weapon user is just about to die and is offered The Deal (die or become the weapon's spirit), who do they see offering said Deal? Pinky or Godoka?
    • Pinky, but with golden eyes. And it's less of a deal and more of a hostile negotiation. [40]

  • Questions about the Golden Deagle: Can it fire abnormal/custom ammo? (think Exitus Ammunition) What is it capable of firing? Does it need to be reloaded like a regular Deagle or does magic mumbo jumbo help any? Golden Weapons in general are way more durable too right?
    • It can be reloaded with a Desert Eagle or by tapping it against Chiaki's Soul Gem. It can fire abnormal/custom ammo, but I don't think that's necessary, considering that each shot hits like it's from an Exitus rifle. [41]

  • well i was actually wondering if the souls that are in the golden weapon can interact with each other in chiaki's mind or something?
    • Ah, that could be possible, yes, but there's always the strain to contend with. [42]

  • how many homu's are inside in the golden deagle approximately? do we have to pleased all of them or only the 3 ones represented to unlock super homu 1?
    • I can't answer this without spoilers, sorry! [43]

  • Well, Muramasa appeared during the bear fight, so at least they appear when we LEAST need them... Is it something tied to 'their' user (Mami's appeared when she was about to get nommed after all)? The DEagle is Chiaki's weapon, so it'll be there when she needs it.‎
    • Golden Weapons will always go back to their appointed Chosen until a new Chosen is...well, chosen! [44]

  • Is the Golden Deagle's bond unique in the fact that it will appear whenever Chiaki needs it? Or by advancing our connections with the other Golden Weapon Spirits allow them to find their way to Chiaki when she desperately needs them?
    • I would say the latter is possible, but if there's one guarantee I can make in MGNQ, is that even if Chiaki has lost everything, even if she's left colrd and alone and without anyone to go to, the Golden Desert Eagle will always be in her hands when she needs it the most. [45]

  • Are most MGNQ teleporters one-way or two-way? That is, can they be used to teleport something TO the teleport pad, rather than away from?
    • Only if the thing has a teleport beacon attached to it. [46]

  • Are there any scientists at work on a time machine in the MGNQ world? Perhaps someone at SERN, or right in Akiba?
    • The Fourth tried it, but abandoned that line of research soon enough. They said it's not feasible in the long run. [47]

  • Do Tachikoma think-tanks exist in MGNQ?
    • Hahaha, probably at the Fourth! [48]

  • Could Chiaki fit Cherno Alpha into the shield? Is Cherno Alpha ALREADY in the shield?!‎

  • Just to be clear: "flesh of the fallen angels" = letting a Golden Weapon take control of you?
    • Yep! Basically allowing the spirit inside to take control and manipulate your body and mind. With the procedure, Chiaki retains some semblance of control, and the corruption is lessened. [50]

  • When are we getting magical girls in lewd symphogear?
    • The Fourth has a few of them I think. Namely the one with the death metal attacks? I forget her name. [51]

  • In Psycho-Pass, the Sybil System could measure how deranged was the psyche of any person. This measurement could be made at any given moment, using the huge computing power of the Sybil System. Is there any device that resembles the Sybil System in MGNQ, capable of measuring the hue of a soul gem?
    • I would say so. The Thirteenth helped develop scanners for that, integrating them in Culexus' Anima Speculum helmets. Each hospital wing of an Officio should have one too. And an incubator can remotely keep track of someone's soul gem purity. [52]
