Character History[edit]
Noriko is a daughter of the noble Karasawa family, which makes her Enishi's sister. Unlike her other sisters, she is not a magical girl, but an idol. Her family disapproves of her career choice, but her brother seems to support her regardless. She is also secretly the assistant of the novice reporter known as NECO.
Kirishima[edit]
The M-idol Noriko is hired by Ruri Kirishima as a personal assistant during her time in Mitakihara. One of her tasks is handing a ticket to a rigged lottery to Chiaki to make sure the magical girl is chosen as the special fan to accompany the super idol for the duration of the promotional livestream and concert.
Noriko is constantly nervous, but Chiaki tries her best to calm her down and even starts to befriend the strange girl. Ruri on the other hand treats her as the servant she was hired to be, and even punishes her by making Noriko stay inside a box for messing up.
The next day, Chiaki has another conversation with Noriko, where she explains what she is doing as an M-idol and invites her to see one of her own shows at some point.
At night, Noriko encounters her sister Enishi, who works as a magical girl under Chiaki. She is still inside the box and too tense to talk to her much, especially since Enishi shows her a very cold attitude.

<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">Noriko is hired by Ruri Kirishima as a stress relief and underling. On the first day of her stay in Mitakihara, the super idol instructs her to meet the Warmaster of the Ninth Officio in front of the hotel and hand her the winning ticket to the four day date with Ruri lottery unnoticed.
Soon after the Warmaster arrives, Noriko approaches her, tugs at her sleeve and tells her not to look at her before speaking the arranged key phrase. Chiaki replies with her phrase, but Noriko doesn't let go, telling the other girl that she was instructed to wait for a signal before giving something to her.
Positively scared of messing up, she begs Chiaki not to shoot her legs off or eat her face. Confused, Chiaki tries to tell her she will not do something like that without good reason, but Noriko only gets more scared, shaking and crying. Just as Chiaki tries to comfort her, an idol on stage in front of the hotel starts announcing the lottery winning numbers. Taking this as her signal, Noriko presses a ticket into Chiaki's hand and quickly runs away.
Unexpectedly, the Warmaster gives the winning ticket away and is left outside after the crowd clears. The guards at the entrance refuse to let her in, unaware of her position, and Noriko waves at Chiaki from behind some trash cans, looking quite miserable.
She takes Chiaki through an alley to the back door of the hotel, kept open by one of her shoes. Too weak to open it herself, Noriko needs help to move the door before leading Chiaki to the service elevator. Once inside, she asks why Chiaki didn't use the ticket, crying that she will get the box for messing up her simple task.
Chiaki pats her shoulder, causing Noriko to flinch, and tells her that she went against the flow deliberately because nobody told her about this plan and assures that nobody should punish the messenger for it. When Chiaki asks about the box, Noriko shakes her head, covers her ears and asks her not to make her say it out loud, calling it horrible and mentions that she is not supposed to talk about it.
In front of Ruri's suite, Chiaki stops, hearing screams of climax. Noriko tells her to go knock and not keep Ruri waiting, shaking at the Warmaster's furious expression. Lighting cigarettes, Chiaki paces in circles in front of the door, ignoring Noriko for a while before calming down enough to talk again.
Noriko wonders if Chiaki was confused abut where to go, who irritatedly asks her to open the door for her. Noriko fails at first, then opens it with both sweaty hands, cleaning the door knob with her dress afterwards. While Ruri greets Chiaki and continues her anime script practice with Iori Minase, Noriko starts unpacking luggage, trying to stay out of view f the camera broadcasting a livestream.
When somebody knocks on the door, Noriko drops a piece of luggage on her foot, limping while making her way over to open. After room service spreads breakfast on the table, Noriko takes the camera from Sayaka, nearly dropping it at first.
Ruri introduces Chiaki as the best Murder Mayumi cosplayer there is and asks what she does to look just like her, who replies that it is second nature to her before growling to get the camera out of her face, threatening to shoot it. Noriko shakes, but Ruri hold her in place while telling the viewers that they will see more of her during the next days and announces a break, switching the camera off.
Ruri lets out a sigh and asks Noriko about her performance, who replies that she was very green, pleasing the idol. She then tells Noriko to take Iori and Sayaka next door so she can speak to the Warmaster in private, adding that she will decide how long her assistant will be put into the box later.
Some time later the group hears a commotion next door and makes their way back to Ruri's suite. As they enter, a group of suit wearing men nearly bumps into them. While they shove their way past the girls, Noriko keeps the camera aimed at them. Sayaka thought they would be pressured into leaving if they thought they would end up on the webstream, which did work out well.
She compliments Sayaka's cunning plan and explains that the Yakuza have been tailing Ruri ever since she arrived in Japan. The idol assumes that some of her agency work with the Yakuza and wants Chiaki to find out who. The Warmaster offers to put all of them in a room, find out who is responsible and get them out in a body bag, but Ruri refuses this approach.
Chiaki settles for sending Noriko to get the security leader from downstairs. A bit later she brings the man in, nervously shaking and eager to leave so she does not have to see his kneecaps getting shot out. While waiting outside the room, she overhears the conversation and confirms that the guard desperately tried to recover video material from the security cameras before reporting to the magical girl.
On his way out, the guard bumps into Noriko. Soon after, Sayaka does the same, knocking her to the ground. After a while she gets back into the suite and reminds Ruri that they have to go back online in two minutes. Ruri pats her head in thanks and tells her to take better care of her hair, seeing how greasy it is.
Ruri wonders where Sayaka is, and Noriko tells her that the magical girl needed some air and will be back soon while holding up a mirror for the idol to check her makeup. Noriko then readies the camera and counts down for the webcast to get back live.
She keeps the camera work up during the following events until finally taking a break during the idol's dance practice in Mitakihara stadium. She sits on the edge of the stage eating a sandwich when Chiaki taps her shoulder, sitting right next to her. Shocked, Noriko shrieks and holds her mouth shut, whimpering through her hands upon realizing who is next to her.
After composing herself, Noriko asks if Chiaki wants her to get something, who replies that she just wants to keep her company for a while. Noriko first thinks she is joking, but then notices that she dropped her lunch, which fell apart on the ground, soaked by her water. Chiaki apologizes, gives her a handkerchief and runs off to get a stage hand to buy a new sandwich while Noriko cries over the loss of the simple lunch her brother made for her.
Blowing her nose, Noriko tells Chiaki that she didn't have to do that, but thanks her nonetheless. Chiaki asks about her brother and Noriko shows her a picture she had taken secretly. She mentions that they used to fight a lot, but he started treating her better when she got her job as an idol.
In reaction to Chiaki's confused expression, Noriko explains that there are many different types of idols in the industry. From the singing and dancing idols like Ruri and Iori, to fashion models, mascot idols as well as M idols like herself. Handing Chiaki her unusually neat calling card, Noriko tells her that people come to her shows to bully her, to shout and throw things while she apologizes, all in order to vent frustration and relieve stress. She proudly claims the title as second best M idol, telling Chiaki about her two thousand fans with a bright smile.
Chiaki wonders if there are S idols as well, which Noriko confirms. She also mentions that both Ruri and Iori used to be successful S idols in the past. Leaning in closer, she points out that the currently most popular S idol, Mappi, is also part of the show and that she considers Ruri her rival. Leaning her head on Chiaki's shoulder, she tells her that she could be a good S idol if she wanted, comparing her icy stare with that of Ruri.
While Noriko curls her arms around Chiaki's, the magical girl wonders if she ever wanted to be a normal idol. Noriko admits that she did, but already has a hard time getting on stage for her M shows, writing off singing and dancing as impossible.
Just then the stage hand returns with a packed sandwich, completely out of breath from running all the way. Chiaki hands it over to Noriko, who finally lets go of her and returns one half to the magical girl, explaining that she can't possibly finish a footlong on her own and that Sayaka or her boyfriend must be hungry, too.
She explains that Sayaka dragged the guard from earlier behind a wall to whisper something, but she did not hear anything concrete other than Sayaka crying a bit. Chiaki tells her that this is a misunderstanding and that she should not mention this again.
Before leaving, Chiaki asks if she knows anything about Ruri's dead fan two years ago, but Noriko was still training to be an M idol back then and only knows that there are many crazy people in Santa Destroy. Chiaki then hands her her half sandwich and tells her to give it to Sayaka later. She also exchanges phone numbers and asks for her M idol show schedule.
After practice, Noriko keeps a small hand fan aimed at Ruri, following the idol around and taking photos of her and Sayaka when asked to. In her changing room, Ruri sends her to fetch Sayaka whom she invited to join in her bath, mentioning that she should join before the rose petals sink.
On the way back to the hotel, Ruri gives Chiaki and Sayaka a long explanation on how to achieve perfectly smooth nether regions, making Noriko blush furiously who tries to ignore the embarrassing subject. Once in the hotel, Noriko retreats to her own room, right next to Ruri's suite.
After taking a shower, Noriko grabs a folded cardboard box and heads out to report to Ruri for her time in the box. In front of the door, she spots Chiaki and asks if Ruri is already asleep. As soon as she notices another woman walking up, she pales and quickly unfolds the cardboard box to hide under it, trembling and crying.
Chiaki inquires about their relation and if this will affect the operation. Enishi tells her that this is an unexpected family reunion that will not affect her behavior or capability during the mission. She nudges the box, asking if Ryota is doing well, to which Noriko nods. She tells the covered girl that their father sends his regards, that their mother is still disappointed in her and that their elder sister wishes her well in her idol career despite sharing Enishi's wish that she grows out of it.
Enishi tells Chiaki that the family had high hopes for the girl but coldly states that it sometimes is a silly thing. Chiaki lifts the box to find Noriko curled up and sobbing into her hands. After ten minutes, the idol finally calms down enough to talk and asks if her sister is gone, which the magical girl confirms. Noriko explains that she never stopped being scary and wipes her dripping nose on her sleeve.
Chiaki offers her the rest of her coffee and tells Noriko that she doesn't need to spend time in the box today, mentioning that Ruri is already asleep anyway. Noriko turns the coffee down, explaining that it makes her jittery, but thanks her for the offer.
Filling the silence that ensued after patting the idol's head, Chiaki comments that her family disapproves of Noriko's career choice. She explains that her family wanted her to be a real idol instead of going on stage to be laughed at like some sort of clown. But Noriko is content with doing things the way she wants to as long as her brother is still proud of her.
Chiaki suggests sleeping next to Ruri who mentioned being lonely in an empty bed, but Noriko refuses, explaining that she can't sleep with the super idol's snoring in the same room. She returns to her own room to go to sleep, thanking Chiaki through a gap in the door before closing it shut.
The next morning, everyone prepares for the concert, including Noriko actually wearing clean clothes and washed hair. After lunch time, Chiaki calls for a final security meeting and gathers everyone in Ruri's suite. During the meeting Noriko is absorbed in convincing her brother to watch the concert on TV since she might be shown on air.
All of a sudden, Chiaki stands in front of her, startling the poor girl hard enough to make her drop the phone and start to cry. The magical girl picks the phone up and slips it into Noriko's pocket. She hands her a handkerchief and apologizes for scaring her, explaining that she did a quick swipe of the room since something felt off and only ended up in front of her by coincidence.Concert[edit]
Noriko accompanies Ruri for the entire duration of the concert, carrying the camera for the livestream when she is not taking care of other chores. She also accompanies Ruri on her flight the day after the concert.
Suddenly the car stops in it's tracks, throwing the passengers around. Noriko crashes into Sayaka, and after they disentangle, the driver explains under Sayaka's angry questioning that the convoy spotted a headless body in the middle of the road, appearing out of nowhere right in front of them.
Chiaki decides to go out and investigate, but Sayaka and Enishi try to stop her, considering it an obvious trap. Chiaki tries to go out anyway, but Sayaka insists that something seems wrong and convinces her to stay inside and move on.
All the while, Ruri remains silent until they are well past the event site. The Warmaster asks if Ruri is alright or if they should postpone the concert, but the idol assures that she will be fine, claiming that she just feels silly after wishing for action and having it happen like this.
Chiaki mentions that she thought Ruri might find it exciting, but the idol explains that while fighting and dying is somewhat heroic, being murdered and put on display like that girl is a different thing. Chiaki tells her that this is exactly how things go, but Sayaka stops her from scaring the civilians any more. Seeing how Noriko looks like passing out, Chiaki remains silent and pats the assistant's shoulder to calm her down a little.
After a while they arrive at the stadium and Ruri explains that it will be very loud and frantic and that they usually just head straight for the entrance. Enishi suggests to keep Ruri in between them and move quickly, claiming that assassins would not risk acting out in the open and in front of the media. Ruri agrees to the plan cheerfully while Noriko explains that she will meet them backstage since assistants are not supposed to walk the red carpet.
During the opening number, shortly before Ruri's first performance, Chiaki declines to make an appearance as Murder Mayumi. Ruri tries to convince her with a teary eyed pout, but Noriko reminds the idol that she arranged a backup plan.
A bell rings as the signal to get ready for the performance, and Ruri gathers her group of idols and extras to head out, Noriko following behind with a camera for the webcast.
After the concert and the fight between Chiaki and a group of hostile magical girls, 2020 Productions decides to relocate Ruri ahead of time. So the morning after the concert, the group heads to the airport for an early flight. Noriko keeps watch on the private jet as preparations are made, accompanied by Sayaka for security.
The call for Ruri's flight comes up and the group moves out onto the tarmac, secured by Kyosuke's men. Meanwhile Noriko is lifting heavy luggage into the plane, stubbornly refusing Sayaka's help. Once done, she waits in the door for Ruri to finish her farewell but has to remind her of their schedule at some point.Trivia[edit]
