  • I have been re-reading Yuma quest. What does Malal obvious transformation into Pinky at the end means? You have stated that Pinky is not Malal transformed, so why make Malal transforms step by step during her last conversation with Yuma? It will have some significance in Malal quest 2?
    • That will be revealed soon enough in Malal Quest 2, for sure! [1]
  • "If you really want to take advantage of a world without it rising up to revolt against you, then you do it by gathering resources, rather than by force. The Incubators know this." Was the role of Incubators/Officios partly inspired by Shadowrun's Dragons/Corps or do they just share similarities?
    • I think a little bit of both, honestly, although they're more like Weyland-Yutani now [2]
  • If Chiaki shoots down Wendy, who would she end up with?
    • No one. If she had shot down Wendy, chances are she'd snapped and also murdered Midori, too. Cue Max Payne 3 theme with the bass turned all the way up, and chromatic aberration to its maximum levels.[3]
  • What would have happened if we have accepted the deal with TTO to return to our old life?
  • When you started MGNQ, what all did you have planned and ready to go? Characters, plot, what have you?

  • How do you plan on completing MGNQ this year? Outside of Anon commiting sudoku or having you rush things, I don't see how it'll happen. I mean, yeah, Pinky told us very early on that someone had 5GW, but even if several people had multiple weapons I can't see this ending this year.
    • It sounds stupid and people will tell me I'm being too optimistic but with my new schedule, the progress will be faster! I'll concede that maybe it'll run until 2016 but I'm still hoping for a one-year resolution to this story! [8]
  • How does it feel having so many people writing for MGNQ? Which ones are you MOST glad about writing for you, and 'all of them' is not an answer!
    • It is the best feel in the world!! And I really look forward to all of them! [9]
  • What was the relation between the devil and strength shades that we destroyed and the actual Risa and Yuu? And were Risa and Best imouto (Yuu) affected by the attack on the shades?
    • Ahriman just used the immense power of the Golden Staff to summon shades of former Golden Weapon users, really. And they weren't affected, no! [10]
  • how would things have gone if we hadn't chosen to return to being Chiaki and had chosen to remain like that? Also, was that us as the ribbon fragment, TTO herself, or someone other? Also, we keeping the dress as well as the wings then? Sorry for questionspam there

    • Of course not! The moment when she shuts up and stops acting friendly is the point where that has happened. [12]
  • RE writeups- As someone who's never read them, while I don't see much of a problem with them, I think part of what people dislike about them is when characters from them become important, leading to "Who is this character, why are they important, why should I care, why is it like we should know them
    • I do agree that a writeup characer being involved in the quest does make people curious about them, but like I've said many times, the writeups themselves are backstory fluff. Chiaki won't know about them, and the decisions Chiaki will make involving them will never involve information that one can glean from reading the writeups. Writeups are all optional, and I've stressed to the writefags to always keep this in mind in their writing. [13]

  • What was, in your opinion, the finest moment of one (or more) of your characters?
    • Yuma doing nothing wrong is an easy answer for me to drop here, but I'll give another: Midori being able to put her trust in a homicidal maniac of a corrupted goddess to get Chiaki out of the nightmare she was in. And the players helping her enough to get through what should have been her death arc. [16]

    • Not really! I was looking for a consensus with the name and it just fit! [18]


  • Are you actually keeping track of all of the character relationship points we've been getting so far in the quest? Or is it more of a general "you did really well this time!" thing?‎
    • It's all tracked. Each point codified, tallied, and measured to compare against character point tables with cross-checked consequences and variables. [19]

  • Are there any characters from other anime that you wanted to include in MGNQ, but couldn't work out how to get them in without blatant shoehorning?
    • Hmm. The fact is, you can reasonably work any character into MGNQ as long as (a) they're a girl and (b) they have some sort of preternatural/supernatural ability that can be handwaved as magic. That said, perhaps I'd like to work in Elly from Shadow Skill, that would be neat. [23]


  • Have you ever thought about writing some posts out ahead of time? Like the first post and infodumps and such?
    • I do write the first post in advance! Infodumps, not really, but I may try it! [24]


  • Where did the whole M-Idol/S-Idol thing come from?
    • I felt that it was a natural progression for idols, actually! Idols are already worshipped after all, for their looks and their singing and the feelings they incite from their fans with their concerts. So I thought about another role that idols can fulfill for their fans, which to be like a 'shared girlfriend' of sorts that they can either feel dominated or be dominating with. There's already precedent for this, I think, mainly the S-idol ones. [25]


  • Ah... I'd always been wondering about that whole S-idol thing, it just seems really silly to me.
    • Hahaha, well, Iori has been shown in the official Puchimasu manga to have her 'hell shows' in which she berates and curses an appreciative 'M' crowd! But I can see how that's silly, yes! [26]


  • In the beginning of MGNQ, you mentioned that we'd have 500 threads, a hefty order. Do you think we're on the path to jut around that same number, much more, or much less?
    • I think we're still on that path! Right now I'm trying to cut down on unnecessary scenes (too much dialogue and chatting) to get the plot stuff moving. It's really a bad habit of mine, hahaha, sorry! [27]


  • What are some scrapped ideas you've thrown away for MGNQ, if they're not too spoilery? What brought you to the place you're at now with your story?
    • Hmm. The only ideas I've scrapped are basically stuff that people didn't pick or choose or negated due to their choices? That said I don't want to say anything because I may be able to use them eventually in the future. Sorry! [28]


  • When are we gonna have Midori fuss with our hair? That was like, half the reason many of the Anons went with ponytail I believe.


  • What decision by anon has shocked you the most over the course of the quest? Besides anything related to waifuing Midori.
    • Entirety of Yuma Quest! That got me on my toes a whole lot. [30]


  • Why do MGNQ characters have such trouble keeping their eyeballs inside of them? If I submit a writeup, she'll be blind as Zatoichi.
    • We only have two actual characters with just one eye, I think! [31]


  • Will Ebola-chan make an appearance as a magical girl in MGNQ?
    • Ask Archival, he's in charge of the Nurglites! [32]


  • How surprised were you that we picked Sayaka to be our Equerry instead of Kyouko, Mami, Midori, or literally anyone else?
    • Very surprised! But at the same time, I was thinking to myself 'it'd be awesome if they picked Sayaka, I love writing her being a bitch to Chiaki' ! [33]

  • Why are the different magical girl types referred to as 'ranks' rather than 'classes'? It's something that's always bugged me. 'Rank' generally denotes some kind of hierarchy involved, for example, Eversors are a higher rank than Vindicares. That's just something I decided, sorry, hahaha! I thought 'Class' was a bit too game-like, and rank seemed a bit more formal. [40]


  • Would it be alright to write a Vanus that has more in common with the 40k variety - ie, mastermind planner, rather than pencil pusher?


  • If Spider-Man was a magical girl, would she be a Venenum because chemistry/inventions, or an Eversor because SM can lift ten tons?

  • If Batman became a magical girl, what class and power would (s)he be? Would (s)he get along with Chiaki?
    • I would say Eversor or Callidus, with the fear thing. I don't think they'll get along at all! [43]

  • How much behind-the-scenes quest knowledge do the writefags have? Who knows the most aside from yourself?
    • I tell them what they need to know, but I would say Wendy and Archival knows a few hints about where this ride is headed! [45]


  • If Oriko killed Chiaki, would Arhiman's spirit try to manipulate/control Oriko to make her kill Kharn next?
    • Most probably! Ahriman is bent on taking out the Ninth. [46]

Pinky didn't, but she really hated Malal. The other Homus knew because Chiaki told them. [47]

    • I don't see that ending happening, really. Chiaki's not the sort to self-destruct like that, not in the way the players have built her up. [53]

  • Will we ever get to see Ekaterina on camera? Or is she boring compared to Kharn?‎

    • I follow the vote, but I always make sure everyone is at least armed with the knowledge they need to make decisions - within reason, of course! [59]


  • I was reading the first thread again the other day, and I noticed that we had Kaname Madoka's phone number in our contacts list. I know that it was pretty early on, but what would have happened if we had called? An ominous answering machine perhaps?
    • A recording of Kaname Madoka screaming while she's being murdered. [60]

  • Have you ever had to scrap/put off plotlines, ones that you already put some effort into, because you had a better idea later on?
    • Yes! Although some where Wendy and Archival had to talk me out of them because they were 'too lewd' or 'too healing' or even 'there are too many variables involved' [64]


  • How come so many homus exist at one time?
    • It's the Transcendent One's fault. [65]


  • Will dildos get to meet Sayaka? CAN WE EXPOSE OTHERS TO THE VOICES IN OUR HEAD?
    • Hahaha, if Chiaki lets Dildos take over, sure. [66]


  • If Dildos and Sayaka met what would happen?
    • Both would be at each other's throats in minute one. At least Chiaki and Sayaka can reach and accord and becoming at least friendly with each other - Dildos is completely unapologetic about being a dildo, a Tendou Souji(Kamen Rider Kabuto) type. Aloof, prideful and disdainful - traits that Sayaka just hates a lot. [67]

  • If MGNQ were to have an official soundtrack, which composer d'you think is best?
    • Brendon Small, Yuki Kajiura...Maximum The Hormone? They'd be great. Also, Kärtsy Hatakka, Kimmo Kajasto and Marko Saaresto (from the Max Payne trilogy). [69]

    • In formal occasions! The nearest one coming up is Warmaster Chiaki "Murderface" Matsuda The First's ratification! [70]


  • Are there any magical girls you have specifically NOT added to MGNQ? If so, why not?‎
    • Well, believe it or not I just cherry pick Magical Girls from the series they come from! A good example would be the Sailor Senshi, I didn't take all of them wholesale. I try to pick only the ones that I think will be good to place in MGNQ, to contribute as a character rather than just a reference or a name. And not just main characters either! [71]


  • If MGNQ were a cop dramedy, would Kyoko work with a K-9 Unit?
    • Definitely. She'd have a huge menacing Ovcharka with great shaggy fur that is just a big sweetie and loves to cuddle until she tells it to kill, in which case it would eat faces off. Its name would be, always, 'Spike'. [72]


  • What say you to the folks who believe Kharn has outlived her usefulness and overstayed her welcome?
    • She still has a part to play! [73]


  • What exactly did the Procedure do to Chiaki? Had she gone full FoFA with the Golden Deagle pre-treatment what could have happened?
