Oriko was considered a potential contract around the same time Yuma Chitose formed hers, but was left alone after the younger girl was recruited.

===Recuperation===
After learning of her friend Kirika's death at the hands of Chiaki Matsuda, Oriko is comforted by Mami Tomoe in the Officio building. Seeing her friend's murderer approach, she slaps her several times, wailing at how she took her only friend away before sobbing into the front of her costume. While Chiaki shows no reaction whatsoever, Mami gently pulls her away and leads the sobbing girl to her desk, handing her a glass of water to calm down.

===MAXIMUM CHRISTMAS===
In a flashback taking place on Christmas one year prior to the story's starting point, Oriko meets Kyoko while shopping in Mitakihara Central Mall with Kirika. She offers to help the red haired girl find a suitable set of underwear to give her girlfriend as a present since she has a similar figure.

Oriko chooses a tasteful design that would suit Sayaka, tries it on for size and receives the set she wore as thanks for her assistance.

<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">In a flashback taking place on Christmas one year prior to the story's starting point, Oriko meets Kyoko while shopping in Mitakihara Central Mall with Kirika. Noticing the red haired girl looking around rather confuse in an underwear store, she decides to approach her, greets in a friendly manner and asks if she needs any help.

Kirika pokes fun at Kyoko, but Oriko reprehends her friend and offers her help. The red head admits that she never bought lingerie before and doesn't know Sayaka's three sizes, but mentions how Oriko is pretty close and asks her to be a model for a bit, making the blonde blush and Kirika mad.

Kirika shouts at Kyoko for asking her friend to wear lingerie in front of her. The blonde however expresses her desire to help and assures Kirika that she trusts in Kyoko being a good person. She tells Kirika to go buy cake as planned while she helps the red haired girl to choose a fitting set of underwear for her girlfriend.

While Kirika walks off, she tells Kyoko that she can be difficult but is a good person once you know her well, comparing her to Murderface. She then asks what sort of design Kyoko has in mind who tells her short term model that she wants a lacy, pretty set. Oriko leads her to the shelves where a brand she knows is placed and gives her a crash course on lingerie.

After a while she picks out a white combination with a tasteful lace design, mentioning how well it would suit Sayaka's skin tone, hair and eyes, asking if she should model it. Kyoko blushes and steps away from Oriko's touch when she tries to feel her head, worried that the red head might be catching a cold. She tells Oriko that she doesn't want to take up too much of her time and only needs to know if the clothes fit without having her model them, so the helpful girl moves to the changing room alone.

Upon her return the blonde girl confirms that the sizes are right and thanks Kyoko for not having her model them, blushing about how the design doesn't really cover anything. Kyoko decides to get the set, but Oriko mentions that she told the attendant to get her a fresh pair since she has already worn this one and will keep it. Kyoko insists on paying for the lingerie since she made Oriko help her out and replies to her protest that Kirika will appreciate this, too, and that she can pay her back with a gift of her own if she really feels bad about it.

Shortly after the attendant hands them their respective bags, Kirika returns and threatens to gut Kyoko of she did anything, who is decidedly ignored by the red head who thanks Oriko and turns away to leave. Kirika stops her a few steps away and has a short talk with her before letting her go after which Kirika leaves with her friend.</spoiler>
