Rea Ashford was appointed Rank Leader after Warmaster [[Kharn Valnikov]] left.

===Warmaster===
The new Warmaster calls the Rank Leaders into her office. After introductions, she informs her subordinates about a death threat to [[Mami Tomoe]], instructs them to search for potential suspects for being “The Prophet” and to watch out for the dangerous [[Golden Weapons]].

<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">The new Warmaster, Chiaki Matsuda, calls for a meeting of the Rank Leaders. While Kyubey did not tell them the reason for this summon, the magical girls immediately make their way to the Warmaster's office.

During their short wait, Rea sits on the Warmaster's throne, much to Sayaka's disapproval. Following the Eversor's complaints, she explains that she just wanted to see what it was like while getting off of the hard furniture. As the Warmaster expresses her surprise at their quick arrival, Rea mentions that punctuality is important.

The Warmaster introduces herself as Chiaki Matsuda, surprising Enishi who nudges Rea, which she decidedly ignores. Rea introduces herself as Vindicare Rank Leader and Logistics Officer.

The Warmaster then briefs the group on how she received a severed head, fashioned after Mami Tomoe, and that she believes this to be a threat. She then explains how somebody known as “The Prophet” is involved and that they will be tasked with apprehending potential suspects following a list from Kyubey.

Finally, Chiaki explains the Golden Weapons and instructs them to refrain from engaging anyone wielding one of them and instead inform her immediately. She stresses that these weapons are dangerous on their own and that only she can use them with limited risk due to her procedure in Siberia.

Enishi ensures that everything will be taken care of, pleased that Chiaki could explain everything without the need of her aide translating, unlike Kharn. She bows and pledges the Callidus to her service, followed by Rea and Sayaka.

Chiaki exchanged phone numbers with everyone and tells them to call her Equerry Sayaka or Mami if they cannot reach her. The news of Sayaka's position surprises everyone, the Eversor in question reacting irritated to the early revelation. Rea stares at the Warmaster for a bit longer before finally leaving the office to attend to her duties. </spoiler>

Might be a dumb question, but who is Charlemagne? I don't recall hearing that name before. Also, it seems a bit arbitrary that events from the Eighth are included, even if they have no relation to the quest, while important events in other Officios are left out. - Archival

I can't put in information I don't have yet is all, so feel free to edit in what you information have and reasonably think should be there. That's why it's on the wiki now. 
Originally I simply made this for my own reference after interro- I mean discussions with Decu, but seeing that I probably won't be having anything done soon (as it has been for weeks already), I thought it'd be put to better use on the wiki. 
Charlemagne is just a background character that probably won't have relevance in the main quest, she's in there because I needed a frame of reference for her activity in the Ninth from Decu. I think Decu said she's working in the officio's library now.

While Chiaki escapes and makes preparations, Kirika takes Mami hostage and demands to fight her would be assassin. They face each other on a skyscraper where Kirika stabs Mami and pushes Chiaki into a corner before she is taken out by Misaka with a large caliber sniper rifle.

In a flashback taking place on Christmas one year prior to the story's starting point, Kirika meets Kyoko in Mitakihara Central Mall while shopping with Oriko. Her friend offers to help the red haired girl find a suitable set of underwear for her girlfriend, and Kirika grudgingly agrees on leaving them alone for a while after arguing with her coworker.

Kirika teases the Eversor about her Santa hat and walking around in her costume, but Oriko reprehends her. The red head admits that she never bought lingerie before and doesn't know Sayaka's three sizes, but mentions how Oriko is pretty close and asks her to be a model for a bit, making the blonde blush and Kirika mad.

She shouts at Kyoko for asking such a thing, but is again reprimanded by her friend who assures her that the red headed girl is a good person who would not do anything to her, especially if it would risk her job. Kirika agrees to go and buy a cake as planned while Oriko helps Kyoko and walks off.

After adding a cake box to her load, Kirika returns and finds both Kyoko and Oriko still inside the underwear shop, blushing. She threatens to gut Kyoko if she did anything, who is decidedly ignored by the red head who thanks Oriko and turns away to leave. Kirika stops her a few steps away and apologizes for her earlier behavior, not without claiming to kill both them and Sayaka if she catches Kyoko looking at her girlfriend again. Grinning, Kyoko replies that she will use Kirika's flayed skin as a cape if she touches Sayaka and departs.</spoiler>

Malal requests Xiaomei's help to find the kidnapped Ekaterina Valnikov. She contacts Fran Madaraki from the Thirteenth Officio and negotiates a deal. She keeps Malal updated during her rescue mission in Varrigan City, contacting the Culexus frequently with new information.

<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">Five years ago, Malal starts a rescue mission for an abducted rookie magical girl from her Officio that was already declared dead. She refuses her Incubator's network of associates and relies on her own contacts. One of them is Xiaomei Baocun, who serves as support during her stay in Varrigan City, one of the most dangerous places in the world.

Xiaomei calls Malal after her arrival and complains about the Culexus putting herself in danger for a lost cause, but is told that saving the missing girl is very important. The teleporter Malal used to travel to Varrigan City left her mind somewhat jumbled, so the chinese refreshes her memory about the mission.

Malal is to find the Vindicare recruit Ekaterina Valnikov whom she tracked up to this point, although Xiaomei mentions that the Culexus' sources are unconfirmed and that her target might not be around at all. She further explains that an extraction team is scheduled to arrive at Varrigan City Tower in four hours, reminding Malal to be quick about her business.

Xiaomei proceeds to introduce Malal's local contact, Professor Madaraki The Second, a Venenum from the Thirteenth Officio, who is supposed to be in Asian Town. She suggests stealing a motorcycle and taking Redline Highway to reach her and reminds Malal that she is in the territory of the Eighth Officio and should avoid their agents if possible.

When Malal is on Redline Highway, Xiaomei informs her of a distress signal close to her location, a magical girl chased by a motorcycle gang, injured and asking for support. She suggests ignoring it to avoid the delay. Malal asks for details, but Xiaomei without any identification Xiaomei can only infer from the language used that the signal is coming from a Second Officio girl and tells the Culexus to be wary of traps.

When Malal contacts her and shouts for not being told about trading her blood for Ekaterina's location, the chinese girl reminds her that she was asked to find a way to get to the target no matter what. Xiaomei explains that she managed to dissuade the Professor from taking living tissue samples of skin, muscle, hair, bone and even a kidney. She bargained her down as much as possible and tells Malal to think of it as a life saving transfusion.

While Malal works on Ekaterina's rescue, Xiaomei finds out that the planed evacuation site is compromised with a huge number of hostiles and that the plane can't get close. She contacts Fran Madaraki who agrees to take the Culexus and the others back to japan on her Officio's flagship. The chinese girl contacts Malal and reports her findings, telling her to trust Fran and connects a communication channel for them to talk directly.</spoiler>

After messing around with her cellphone for a bit, Chiaki agrees to meet with Mami Tomoe at her apartment to pick up her newest assignment. However, she arrives there to find that a newly gestated Witch has taken Mami by surprise. A small altercation with Sayaka Miki occurs after which Chiaki disposes of the Witch with ease, but not before the Witch murmurs a strange name at her: '''Homura'''.

Deciding that she'd rather not put up with Sayaka glaring at her, Chiaki steps out for a breath of fresh air and ends up at her favorite bar - a rundown old joint without a name and commonly referred to by the name of its owner: Charle's Bar. Kyouko Sakura shows up and they have a small conversation while Chiaki reads up on her newest assignment - playing bodyguard for Iori Minase, age 16, a popular idol. In the middle of their conversation, Chiaki begins to hallucinate and Kyouko is replaced by the pink haired girl with black eyes from Chiaki's recurring nightmares. The hallucination accuses Chiaki of being a fake and tells her that she will probably die during her upcoming mission. Chiaki retorts by telling the hallucination that she's dead; Chiaki shot her in the face before she ripped her heart out. The pink haired hallucination is amused by this and tortures Chiaki briefly before reality returns. Kyouko informs Chiaki that she was screaming about '''The Flesh of Fallen Angels'''. Feeling disturbed by this, Chiaki leaves in a foul mood and heads off to her mission, leaving Kyouko behind.

After physically humiliating a man twice her size, the security detail agrees to call in another team and tighten security across the hotel.

Satisfied with this, Chiaki moves to the principal's room and knocks, but receives no answer. Worried that the room might already be compromised, she shoves the door open just in time to see [[Iori Minase]] stepping out of the bathroom. The young idol is displeased at this and orders for her guards to kick Chiaki out. Miraculously, Chiaki manages to maintain her composure and introduces herself properly as Iori's additional security. Iori is unimpressed and orders her to take a bath because she stinks. Feeling increasingly annoyed at the idol's imperious attitude, Chiaki refuses while stating that she's here to protect Iori from rapists, not to make her comfortable. Iori, however, insists that Chiaki should at least brush her teeth, at which point the older girl relents.

After brushing her teeth and struggling with the decision of whether or not to steal Iori's discarded panties, Chiaki steps outside and does her best to comfort Iori's worries concerning the need for extra security. Iori is afraid that she might be raped like Yayoi Takatsuki was, but Chiaki calms her fears with some deadpan humor. The moment is interrupted when one of the guards knocks on the door and announces that Yayoi is there to visit Iori. The idol confirms that they had talked about visiting each other one last time before her trip to America, and asks for Chiaki to please let her friend in. Chiaki agrees to Iori's request and, after making sure that everything is in order outside, drags Yayoi into the room forcefully and proceeds to pat her down, searching for weapons. Appalled at Chiaki's treatment of her friend, Iori slaps the older girl and screams at her for being a brute as she takes Yayoi towards the bed. Infuriated, she orders Chiaki to get out of the room.

Chiaki, however, refuses and once again states that she's there to protect her, not to make her comfortable. Iori replies that she pities Chiaki and that if the paycheck is all she cares about then she can stay until morning, when she'll be calling Kyubey to have her replaced by another agent. Feeling slightly annoyed and relieved, Chiaki asks for a headset from one of the guards standing outside and listens in on their communications to certify that everything is in order. Focusing on the room once again, she notices that Iori and Yayoi are getting busy under the bedsheets and she tries to give them as much privacy as possible by standing at the door. Once they're finished, Chiaki sends Mami a text message asking for advice on how to patch things up with Iori.

Feeling tired and sleepy, and not wanting to wake up her client, Chiaki stops time to go grab a coffee. However, the moment that her power takes effect, she notices the pink-haired hallucination standing in the middle of the room, beckoning her to come closer. Chiaki immediately cancels her time-stop, no longer feeling sleepy. Seating herself on her chair once again, she receives a text message with the words: '''"Wake up."'''

Ahriman is the last Warmaster of the Third Officio Assassinorum before it is nearly wiped out by Kharn. She claimed her position by defeating her predecessor in an honor duel, vaporizing her in merely five seconds. She is also the owner of the Golden Staff and a devoted follower of the Blessed Lady.

===Kharn Flashback===
Ahriman meets with Kharn and two subordinates to discuss the incident where one of the Ninth killed three squads of the Third. Feeling herself in the right, she demands the murderer's life and the transfer of Mami Tomoe as compensation. Kharn refuses these terms and kills a hundred of Ahriman's subordinates.

Protected by her Equerry Erebus, the Third Warmaster gains power from her golden staff and the sacrifice of her underlings and assaults her enemies with powerful magic. While Kharn fights Erebus, Ahriman grows wings and pushes Malal and Murderface into a tight spot before nearly killing the Third Warmaster upon her return.

Close to death, Kharn acquires a golden weapon of her own, shocking the faithful Ahriman by gaining the Blessed Lady's favor, and defeats her rather easily. Worshiping her goddess until the end, Ahriman is beheaded and her soul gem crushed by the Ninth Warmaster.

<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">Ahriman awaits Kharn in her throne room like office to discuss an incident involving Girl A killing three squads of her Eversors during a joint mission. She and her subordinates are wearing white, apparently in the middle of mourning their fallen comrades. Ahriman ignores Kharns offenses, mentioning how she should mobilize her Officio against the Ninth, but instead demands the murderers soul gem and Mami Tomoe as compensation.

After cackling for a while, Kharn tells her that the gem is already shattered and that she will never hand one of her own over. Ahriman mentions that her offer to restore balance without bloodshed is reasonable, taunting Kharn for refusing and manifests her snake headed golden hequin staff. Proclaiming that her magic powers are vastly superior, he mocks Kharns corruption, threatens to reveal her secret to the other Officios and drags the russians family pride through the dirt.

As the Kharn proclaims full mobilisation and announces to kill everyone in the building, Ahriman calls her a fool but is cut off by her three opponents charging into combat. As Erebus pulls her away, she screams at Kharn, voice filled with rage. Hiding behind a protective formation, she merely watches Kharn's group slaughter a hundred of her subordinates, shocked by the Ninth Warmaster's mad lust for blood.

Kharn offers to let the Third Officio go if she surrenders herself to be executed. Before Ahriman can answer, Erebus tells her to escape to the rest of the Officio while she holds Kharn back. As she runs, Murderface shoots her, but in this moment her eyes turn black, dark powers filling the Third Warmaster. She tosses Murderface at Malal and states that she predicted this outcome and let Kharn do the dirty work of slaying a hundred souls as an offering to her Blessed Lady.

Confident in her new powers, Ahriman once again demands Mami Tomoe to be turned over to her, threatening to destroy the Ninth Officio together with the whole town otherwise. Erebus steps in as Kharn charges her, but is quickly struck and hurled across the room, causing another desperate scream from her Warmaster. She starts praying to the Blesed Lady before flinging spells at her assailants, lightning bright enough to darken everything around it. Her magic is deflected by Malals barrier, each bolt tearing holes into the walls until she collapses, spitting black blood.

When the Ninth Warmaster readies herself to strike the exhausted magic user, Erebus tackles Kharn out of the building. During her continued fight with Malal, Ahriman sprouts black crow-like wings on her back, black and crimson veins emerging around her midnight colored eyes, a distorted scowl on her face. Her hands twisted into claws, she keeps holding her golden hequin staff while hurling magic bolts at her opponent.

She screams at the returning Kharn before trembling at the sight of Erebus prayer parchments, evidence of her Equerrys death, being thrown at her. Crying bloody tears for her friend, she says that the Blessed Lady promised to keep her safe, that she sacrificed everything for this and begs her deceased Equerry for forgiveness.

When Kharn charges at her, Ahriman stops the burning chainsword with her magic and shatters the weapon with a mere gesture, sending the pieces flying towards the russian. As Kharn lies pinned to the ground, paralyzed with the pain of being impaled by several steel shards digging into her stomach, Ahriman makes to follow Malal and Murderface, saying how they are interesting, bearing the mark of the Blessed Lady. Her magic penetrates the Culexus shield and knocks her unconscious until Ahriman lifts her up and starts tearing her arms off.

Alarmed by a buzzing sound, she turns to see Kharn stand again, wielding two golden chainaxes. Shaken by the heretic receiving the Bleddes Ladys gift, she points her staff at her, forming arcane words, but is interrupted by the Kharn charging her at high speed. She blocks the first strikes with her staff, terrified by the blasphemy, but gets pushed back by the relentless assault. She tries gaining distance by flapping her wings, but the axe wielder bypasses her defense and cuts off her right wing, making her fall back to the ground. Another chainaxe swing cuts off her legs, sending Ahriman to the ground while Kharn kicks her staff out of reach.

Praying to the Blessed Lady, the crippled Warmaster tries to crawl away, towards her weapon, but is pinned down by Kharns bladed leg. When asked again about why she wanted Mami Tomoe, she says that the Blessed Ladys True Herald opens the way to the Golden Truth and that the Black Sarcophagus must not be given to the Irregular. Without another word, Kharn beheads Ahriman and crushes her blackened soul gem, putting an end to her words of worship.</spoiler>

===Currently===
After her death at the hands of Kharn, Ahriman's soul survives inside the golden staff. It made it's way into the hands of Oriko Mikuni who appears as the Prophet working against Chiaki Matsuda. Whether it is Oriko's own will or Ahriman's manipulation is unknown.

===Kharn Flashback===
Erebus welcomes Kharn and her retinue in the Third Officio's halls and takes them to her Warmaster after handing over their weapons. As Kharn decides to annihilate the Officio for Ahriman's offenses, Erebus protects her superior, tackles Kharn and herself out of the building and faces the Betrayer on a lower floor, resulting in the Equerry's death.

<spoiler show="Full Chapter Summary" hide="Hide Full Summary">When Kharn, Malal and Murderface arrive in the Third Officio for a meeting with the Warmaster Ahriman, Erebus demands them to hand over their weapons. She politely requests that they may mourn in peace, without being suspected of trechery. Kharn shoves her chainsword into the ground, stating that she doesn't want anybody else to touch it and Erebus agrees to leaving it there before taking Malals weapons, conceding that Murderface can keep her shield seeing how it's a defensive tool.

Standing watch behind her Warmaster, she pulls Ahriman back, away from Kharn, when the russian decides to kill everyone in the building. She and her Warmaster are the only ones left after mere moments, a hundred souls fallen to Kharn and her companions. Completely calm, Erebus stands between Ahriman and the Ninth Warmaster to defend her superior.

As the russian offers to let the rest of the Officio live if Ahriman lets herself be executed, she defends her Warmasters honor and tells her to escape while she holds Kharn off. When Murderface is hurled at Malal after trying to stop Ahriman, who is filled with corrupted power by then, Erebus exclaims that she knew the Blessed Lady would not abandon them.

As Kharn charges at Ahriman, Erebus transforms and holds her back, her Katana resisting the bite of Kharns Skulltaker. The russian takes hold of the shiny blade with her metal claws and smashes her weapon, chain teeth receded, into the read haired girl, sending her flying with broken ribs. Erebus remains conscious, cursing Kharn, but is left unable to move. She gathers her strength while Ahriman throws lightning at Malal and recovers in time to charge Kharn as she makes to strike the collapsing magic user down.

Taking the Warmaster by surprise, she tackles her hard enough to hurl the both of them outside the building, falling from a fifty story skyscraper. After Kharn breaks their fall and smashes back into the building, hurling Erebus away, they get up and exchange formal introductions before fighting to the death.

The weakened Erebus goes down in only one swing, her blade shattered, hands severed, the lower body seperated entirely. Left in shock, she weakly calls for Ahriman, saying that she cannot see the Blessed Lady. Breathing her last, she thanks Kharn for telling her that she will not be alone, that Ahriman will soon follow her.</spoiler>
